Man Auctions Instructions on Building 'Dark Knight' Batmobile

Grown men love their toys. One man might have taken that love to new heights, though. Not only does he own a smaller version of a Tumbler, the armored vehicle that Batman drives in 'The Dark Knight,' but he built it himself, too.

Now, he's put the plans up for auction on eBay so that all you amateur engineers and professional nerds can have your own Tumbler. According to OhGizmo, the winning bidder will receive a .zipped copy of the Tumbler plans, which would enable the winner to build the go-kart, but wouldn't give him or her ownership rights to the design, itself. Speaking of ownership rights, tully712 might be hearing from DC Comics or Warner Brothers fairly soon. (And judging from the lack of bids on his auction, his eBay profits aren't going to go too far in paying for his legal representation.)

Is 'The Dark Knight' Saving Blu-ray?

'The Dark Knight' Saving Blu-ray?
Well, good news for Sony, the Blu-ray Disc Association, and anyone who jumped on the Blu-ray bandwagon early on -- sales for the supposed next-gen video format and its players have finally taken off.

Holiday related price cuts, and the cost suppression related to the declining economy, have helped put Blu-ray within the budget of consumers, but most of the thanks can probably be laid at the feet of 'The Dark Knight.' The latest installment in the Batman series, which features the final performance by Heath Ledger, hit store shelves this month and sold remarkably well. The high sales figures don't shock anyone, but what is surprising is that 12.6 percent of the copies sold world-wide were on Blu-ray. That's 1.7 million Blu-ray copies of 'The Dark Knight' sold in one month. Many that may find themselves under someone's Christmas tree.

It's still a little early to tell, but Batman may do for Blu-ray what 'The Matrix' did for DVD. [From: BetaNews]

Watch and Share Fan Commentary With the New 'Dark Knight' Blu-ray

So, you and hundreds of thousands of others picked up your Blu-ray copy of 'The Dark Knight' today, huh? We know you haven't had time to fiddle with the BD-Live extras just yet, but one Joe Lynch from G4 TV has. One of the most intriguing aspects of the flick's interactive feature set is the fan commentary; put simply, users hook up a USB Web cam to their player (PS3 included) and then commentate as the film progresses. From there, you can upload your take(s) to the BD-Live servers for others to enjoy. Granted, we aren't too sure how you'll actually find someone bored enough to listen to you jabber on about a film they purchased, but we reckon that's beside the point. Vid's waiting after the break.

'The Dark Knight' Xbox 360 Spotted in the Wild

As you've surely heard (and hopefully confirmed for yourself) by now, The Dark Knight is a runaway hit. So much so, in fact, that a number of manufacturers have figured it prudent to crank our hardware with the iconic Batman logo front and center. Next in line for admission on the bandwagon seems to be Microsoft, which apparently showed off a "limited edition" (read: likely one of a kind) Dark Knight Xbox 360 over in Taiwan. We know, you want the details -- eventual release dates, a price, the works. Unfortunately for us all, we're stuck with just that image above and hope for the future. Hey, at least you can let your imagination run wild.
