World's Smallest Microwave - the iWave Cube

World's Smallest Microwave, the iWave Cube
In a world of constant miniaturization, one place sorely lacking in shrinkage is the kitchen. But, of course, in the world of technology, no completely useless void ever goes unfilled.

The iWave Cube compacts your standard microwave into a box about the size of a small ottoman. It even has a handle on top for lugging your cook box around (you know, for all those times you really need to lug a microwave around).

The genesis of the iWave Cube is even weirder than the product itself. On the device's home page, the Managing Member of iCubed International, Phil Davis, says, "I was looking for a way to do a hot towel treatment before my shave. I figured the only way I could do that was to have a microwave in the bathroom. I went and got a tape measure, and it went from there."

The usefulness of the iWave Cube is questionable. Though the space-saving form makes it the perfect size for a dorm room, the iWave Cube doesn't look like it can heat up anything much larger than a Cup'Noodle or mug of hot water.

One thing we are sure of, though, is the name is absolutely terrible. Please, please, please, stop sticking lowercase 'i's in front of your company or product name, especially if it has nothing to do with the Internet which is what the 'i' originally was meant to imply.

The Cube retails for $130 via SkyMall (that shopping mag in the seat pouch of every flight you've ever taken).

Guinness Names World's Most Expensive Cell Phone

Worlds Most Expensive Cell Phone
The most sure-fire way to get the attention of tech blogs everywhere is to declare your device "the most ____ ____ ever" or "the smallest _____ ever," even if the claim is questionable at best. But if you can get your claim verified by the 'Guinness Book of World Records,' you're likely to get a bit less cynicism about your product.

So a tip of the hat to GoldVish, a Swiss company that has designed the Guinness-certified most expensive cell phone in the world. The $1.2 million 'LeMillion' cell phone is cast in 18k white gold and encrusted with 120 carats of diamonds. Otherwise, the 'LeMillion' is a perfectly unexceptional feature phone. Bluetooth, 2-gigabytes of storage, MP3 playback, an FM radio, and, of course, a digital camera.

World's Smallest HD Camcorder from Panasonic

Panasonic Makes World's Smallest HD Camcorder
"World's smallest" is a pretty coveted title in the technology world. Every tech company on Earth is in a constant race to make the "world's smallest" something or other, and this week Panasonic gets to take the title for world's smallest hi-definition camcorder.

The diminutive HDC-SD7 is small and light enough to be held in the palm of your hand. This miniaturization comes at a price, though. The Panasonic has fewer image capture sensors than larger HD cams, minimal optical zoom, and questionable stability since lighter cameras are hard to hold without shaking.

The HDC-SD7 will be available on September 8th, in Japan only, for ¥140,000 (or about $1,188).
