Your mom may be a compulsive Facebooker, but does that necessarily make her a spammer? According to Facebook's security system, it does.
When the social network launched its new Groups feature a few weeks ago, many mothers, like Lucy Berry of Kansas, began using the tool to share parenting tips and stories between themselves. But because some of them posted so incessantly, Facebook ...

Parents often fret about video game addiction and the effects of violent games, but one super-geek dad has apparently realized how to address those concerns. Eleven-year-old Joseph DeRose loves gaming, so his perceptive father recently took part in -- and actively promoted -- his son's pastime by helping him to construct an incredibly cool Halloween costume.

Babies born today aren't just born into the age of Facebook, they're born on Facebook.
According to a new study conducted by Research Now, 92-percent of all American babies have some form of online presence by the time they reach the age of two. After surveying 2,200 mothers of young children in the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, and several other developed countries, researchers discovered that ...

New parents may be a notoriously finicky bunch, but their paranoia is usually well founded. With all the horror stories of babies dying from SIDS, sleep apnea, and negligent babysitters, it's no wonder that so many mamas and papas treat their infants like fabergé eggs. Soon, though, the hyper vigilant parents of the world may be able to sleep a little easier, thanks to a new set of pajamas ...

Don't let anyone ever tell you that being a viral-video star is not a viable profession. Business Insider reports that the DeVore family has made roughly $150,000 since January of last year, when David DeVore uploaded a video of his son, also named David, to YouTube. That video, 'David After Dentist,' ...

The New York City Department of Education recently proposed an amendment to its disciplinary code that would punish students for sexting outside of school hours. Not long ago (although it may seem like an eternity for some), kids learned of exotic locations and their inhabitants through handwritten interactions with distant pen pals. That specific reference to a writing implement increasingly loses relevance in today's lexicon, though, so parents may need to consider a modernized adaptation -- perhaps "Skypals" might be more appropriate.
As modern kids ...

There's no denying that social media and networking are an integral part of both social and professional interaction in the 21st century. Therefore, it's necessary to expose children to these tools as early as possible in order to help them develop the proper digital literacy they'll need to succeed. But there is, of course, a danger inherent in letting your eight-year-old sign on to ...

Highlights from this morning's other big tech headlines....
Echoing what everyone on the Web has known for three years, Rupert Murdoch has reportedly admitted that his News Corp. organization "made some mistakes" with MySpace. (Ya think?) Fans of massively multi-player online games (MMOs) frequently receive ridicule for their fervent devotion to online avatars. Rarely do those devoted gamers become so engrossed in their multiple virtual personalities that they face criminal charges, though, let alone negligent death accusations.

Babies these days just can't catch a break. When parents aren't turning their infants into LOLCats, they're posting every waking moment (literally) of their existence to the Internet for the whole world to go gaga over. Or, every now and then, they're dumb enough to publish photos so scandalous that social services comes a-knocking.
The BBC reports that police in Essex, U.K. have undertaken a ...
