Lil Mama, Kanye Set the Internet Abuzz With VMA Antics

The MTV Video Music Awards (or, VMAs) haven't really been terribly interesting or exciting over the last decade or so. But last night, thanks to a couple of crazed celebrities with no sense of boundaries, and an Internet thirsty for a new meme, the VMAs are once again a topic of conversation.

Lil Mama decided to crash the stage during Jay-Z and Alicia Keys's performance of 'Empire State of Mind.' She strode up unannounced and uninvited, bobbing along to the music. She even struck a pose alongside the performers at the end of the song. The Web, of course, latched on to this bizarre outburst. The #lilmamais tag has turned into a trending topic on Twitter, and Twitpic has been plastered with images of Lil Mama inserted into various scenes, including the Last Supper.

Kidz Bop Uses Auto-Tune for Kanye West Cover

The Kidz Bop crew, known for family-friendly covers (drastically ranging in quality) of popular songs, isn't taking any direction from anti-auto-tune rapper Jay-Z. As part of a new album 'Super Mega Smash Hits... For Kids (With A Z),' the Kidz have inexplicably covered Kanye West's 'Heartless,' complete with computer-altered vocals.

Regardless of where you stand on the topic of kid-friendly covers (is it ever necessary?), 'Heartless' -- an electro-rap, downbeat track documenting a relationship turned sour from West's critically acclaimed '808s and Heartbreak' -- is an odd choice indeed. Furthermore, its creepy hearing a perfectly in-pitch chorus ('How can you be so heaaaartless?') of prepubescent kids singing the lyrics of a superstar with a flair for the extravagant. And let's be honest. Without an ego like West's, no middle schooler could ever hope to pull off the rapper's auto-tuned delivery. [From Idolator]

Adolescent Kanye West Created Sex-Themed 'Mario' Game

In 2006, Kanye West fought off accusations that he suffered from sex addiction, offering this, "I say, 'yeah, I like porn,' then it's all: 'Kanye West: Sex Addict.'" Well, his recent revelation to Details magazine won't help to dispel any of those rumors.

The ever eclectic West describes a version of 'Mario Bros.' he had attempted to create as a youngster on his home computer. Here's an excerpt from the Details interview:

"My game was very sexual. The main character was, like, a giant penis. It was like 'Mario Brothers,' but the ghosts were, like, vaginas. You'd have to draw in and program every little step. It literally took me all night to do a step, 'cause the penis, y'know, had little feet and eyes."

Genius innovator of new and unique styles of music and gaming, or pervert? In case he's reading, we'll say genius. [From: Joystiq]

Kanye West Is Bisexual, Say Rapper's Hacked Gmail and MySpace

Grammy-winning rapper and producer Kanye West is the latest celebrity victim of hackers, according to the Register.

The MC announced last Thursday, via his blog, that hackers had gained access to his Gmail and MySpace accounts, spreading rumors of -- among other things -- his apparent willingness to participate in bisexual pornography.

"I had the two greatest days of my life and when I get back from the Louie [Vuitton] show I read some s**t claiming I said I'm down to do porn and some bisexual porn!" he wrote. "Now somebody has been hacking into my MySpace and somebody's actually hacked into my personal Gmail account and has been e-mailing people from it."

Kanye West Uses Blog to Strike Back

Kanye, Kanye, Kanye. He has a blog, and he uses it to talk back. First there was the EW thing, and now this: a proclamation by the Daft Punk coverer in response to a recent debacle at the jam-bandy Bonnaroo Festival.

Said incident occurred during the annual nouveau-hippie drug orgy music mega-fest in Tennessee, where Kanye's performance began two hours late. Apparently the delay in his show was due to technical difficulties, and was NOT KW's fault, but the magic mushrooms were wearing off and the trust fund hippies didn't care. Someone had to pay! So they took their hempen vengeance out on Kanye, pelting the stage with beer cans and other grimy wares and chanting such mantras as "Kanye Sucks!"

In a Tuesday post, Kanye expressed his rage: "This Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I've ever had in my life...this is the maddest I ever will be." He also apologized for not being able to "2 give the performance I wanted to," and assured fans that HE CARES about them.

Don't take it personal Kanye...Everyone knows those Bonnaroo kids have ingrown beards that poke back into their brains and cloud their judgment. We still like you. [Source: AP]
