Catching Perverts With Cell Phone Cameras

Holla Back Against Pervs
Our friends at GeekSugar have crowned HollaBack NYC their Web site of the day, and we have to agree that the site is very amusing. So, what's it all about? It's a blog-style site where people (mostly women, as evidenced by the minority of man on display above) can fight back against the cat calls, harassment, creeps and perverts. When a user is harassed on the street -- let's just say, in front of a construction site -- she can snap a photo or video of the offender with her camera phone and expose his skeeviness on the Internet for all to see.

HollaBack NYC actually dates back to 2005, but is continually expanding into other regions such as Arkansas, Boston and Chicago. The sites are all independently run, with no real association to each other other than a common goal: to oust perverts.

This is another great example of the Internet being used to promote vigilante justice. Just last month, we reported on a great crop of sites that allow people to tattle on other people, including Caughtya.org (dedicated to exposing those who illegally park in handicap spots) and isawyournanny.blogspot.com (dedicated to ratting out bad nannies).

Warning: These are real perverts captured on cam, so some of the accounts are for mature eyes only.
