Mothers Day 2.0 Arrives With Recordable Greeting Cards

Come this Mothers Day, what will you be getting for that wonderful woman raised you? It's a time for big gifts, yes, but maybe just the sound of your voice will put a smile on mom's face.
It's time for Mothers Day 2.0.
Innovation keeps chugging along, even with greeting cards, and Hallmark now has introduced a new series of the "talking" card that lets you record your own personal message, which plays when the card is opened.
The new cards let you record a 10-second piece of audio that is then followed by 15 seconds of music. The $5.99 cards from the Sound Card line come in eight varieties, with music choices ranging from Tanya Tucker's Here's Some Love and Phil Collins's You'll Be in My Heart, along with a motherly modified version of Tag Team's " Whoomp! There It Is." (What could be more motherly than that?)
Sound cards have been a big hit for Hallmark, so the company has big expectations for this latest, personalized version of the musical greeting.
