Retro Jukebox iPod Dock Costs Over 10 G's

As gadgets get more advanced, they tend to get smaller. Some people, however, still yearn for the past when bigger still meant better. If you fall into that category, you might want the Xi Jukebox, a 1950's looking iPod dock that's made for any fans of the Fonz.

The size isn't just for looks, though. Inside this handcrafted baby you get an Mk7 Twin channel amplifier that cranks out 150 watts per channel via two tweeters, two mid range speakers, and a 12" twin cone bass speaker. There's also an LED screen that plays videos and shows album art and photos, and this beast also comes with light tubes that change color depending on your preference.

The catch with all this is the price, which is currently set at £5,800 (about $10,700 US). It's all made in England too, so you might not be able to get one of here either, as they weigh almost 300 pounds. The worst part is that it doesn't take any money, so you can't get your guests to slowly pay it off with quarters and singles. [Source: OhGizmo!]

Asus Internet Radios Also Give You the Weather, Stock Updates

ASUS's New Internet Radios
Asus isn't just in the market of making laptops and computer parts. Asus also makes an award winning line of Internet radios. At this year's CES, the company is showing off two new members of its AIR (Asus Internet Radio) family.

The AIR 3 allows you to pull in radio streams over Wi-Fi from all around the globe, without a computer. The internal database of over 10,000 streams is updated regularly, weeding out those that have fallen silent and adding new ones as they go live. The AIR 3 also has a built in iPod dock, a USB port for playing tracks off of a Flash drive, as well as weather forecasting and stock tracking widgets.

The AIR 5 is meant for a component stereo system. The screen-less Wi-Fi device has the same USB and Internet radio capabilities as the AIR 3, but also includes a hard drive for storing music locally. The included remote allows you to navigate your media and Internet streams via the LCD display.

Prices were not available, but expect to see the AIR 3 in May, and the AIR 5 in July.

Bose iPod Dock Goes Portable

New Bose SoundDock PortableWe all know Bose makes some fantastic sounding, and fantastically expensive speakers. Since its introduction in 2004, the company's iPod dock has pretty much become the standard for those who care more about sound and less about their wallets. Now, a portable version has been introduced.

The new $399 SoundDock Portable has a rechargeable lithium ion battery (like the kind laptops have) that allows you to carry it outside and away from an outlet. According to this USA Today hands-on review, the portable's sound is just as good as its wall-dependent companion, and battery life is fairly impressive. It is important to note though, that using the built-in equalizer or turning up the volume will result in seriously reduced battery life. While Bose claims the dock can run for up to 10 hours on a charge at "moderate" volumes, that quickly drops to three hours at full blast. Also nice is the fact that it works with iPhone. Though, who knows if it'll work with the new iPods we suspect will be announced on Tuesday (fingers crossed)?

iPhone Dock Revealed

Engadget has posted pictures of what it reports to be the charging dock that will be included with the purchase of an iPhone come June 29. Unconfirmed rumors say the dock will also charge the Apple Bluetooth headset, which received FCC approval last week. Though it's long been thought the dock would do so, it's tough to tell looking at this photo exactly where the headset will plug in. Behind the phone, perhaps?

The Apple-obsessed site, Think Secret, is also stating that the iPhone's dock port is similar to the one on the iPod, which means most third-party accessories that make use of the iPod 's dock port will also work with the iPhone. Though this has been unsubstantiated, Think Secret claims this info comes from official iPhone training documentation.
