City Makes "Art" Out of Cell Phone Towers
It seems that the city of Oceanside, CA just can't take it any more and is looking to turn the monstrosities into works of art. They're starting with one tower in particular, a 65 foot beast in plain view of a busy stretch of road. The city's Arts Commission is planning to cover the tower in a "net -like swirl of material," then place "dozens of foam seabirds in and around the netting."
The Arts Commission is also considering another ocean-themed design based around sails, but engineers believe it is too heavy for most towers.
