David Hasselhoff iPhone App Gives Bad Advice

For the promotion of his new British-only TV show 'Meet the Hasselhoffs' (Maybe VH1 is all reality-showed out.), ex-'Baywatch' and -'Knight Rider' hunk (or, maybe 'Baywatch' and 'Knight Rider' ex-hunk) David Hasselhoff has put out his own iPhone app. "Ask the Hoff" is a bit like a Magic Eight-ball, but instead of mystically revealed, one-word answers in blue goo, Hoff's mug stares back at you to give snide answers. Typically, they're of the 'Yes' or 'No' variety, although we did get these gems: "If I told you, I'd have to kill you," and "That is a disgusting question. What are you, a pervert?" Not very helpful advice, say, for aspiring lifeguards.

The Big D has always been known for his feeble stabs at legitimacy -- so much so that he's now a parody of himself. Still, we can't help but root for him. The Switched Team pooled together the $0.99 fee and downloaded "Ask The Hoff" to see if his sunburned brain could answer a couple of questions. We queried: "Did you get the alcohol?" He responded: "Of course, the answer was yes." We didn't really have doubts, Hoff-man. [From: Textually]

David Hasselhoff Uses Celeb Status to Score a Nintendo Wii

David Hasselhoff Played the Celebrity Card to Get His Daughter a Wii

David Hasselhoff (he of Baywatch, Knight Rider, and drunken YouTube video fame) recently revealed to MTV's Multiplayer gaming blog that he isn't afraid to play the celebrity card to get what he wants.

The Hoff told Multiplayer that using his celebrity to get things normally unavailable to others is his "guilty pleasure." Besides getting backstage at Billy Joel concerts and front row tickets to U2, the former Mitch Buchannon has leveraged his status as a washed up TV star to screw some poor sap out of a Wii in order to buy his daughter's love.

Following the aforementioned disastrous YouTube video he decided to make it up to his daughter by getting her a Wii for Christmas. When he called his local video game retailer he was told they had none in stock. He told them, "This is David Hasselhoff, okay? I've got a daughter. I love my daughter, more than life itself. This is all she wants, okay?" before getting them to admit they had one held on the side. Whoever that system was held for though was out of luck as Hasselhoff flew off to the store and got them to sell it to him purely because of his name.

Well, we hope it was worth it, you probably ruined some other kid's holiday. Jerk. [From: MTV Multiplayer via JoyStiq]

Hasselhoff Launches MySpace-Like Site

Oh no he didn't. Oh yes he did!

As of this very moment in human history, David Hasselhoff -- known to his fans as "The Hoff", and to his car as "Michael" -- has his own social-networking site. You know, like MySpace and Facebook ... but with everything somehow relating back to, well, David Hasselhoff. It's called -- get this -- 'Hoffspace.' Clever!

The free site/service lets fans read the Hoffinator's latest blog posts (not much more than upcoming event listings and "I love HoffSpace" exclamations), upload photos and videos of themselves (or the Hoff), and participate in Hoff-centric contests (send in videos of yourself lip-syncing to Hasselfhoff songs!). We're not betting types over here, but if we were, we'd say, "it's an odds-on favorite to be huge in Germany."

And a complete and utter failure everywhere else, if not an absolute blight on humanity. (Sorry, Hoff). [Source: G4TV]
