U2 Streaming Rose Bowl Concert Live on YouTube

If you weren't lucky enough to snag a ticket for U2's concert at the Rose Bowl this Sunday, don't worry; you don't have to be in Pasadena, or even reside in the United States, to catch the band's performance. According to BBC News, the show will be streamed live in 16 countries via YouTube, and clips from the concert will be archived on the site -- just in case you miss it the first time around.

The band's manager, Paul McGuinness, says Bono and the boys decided to stream the show in order to give back to their fans, who often travel thousands of miles to see the band live. Besides, cameras were already set to capture the show (which will begin at 8:30 p.m. Pacific Time) for an upcoming concert DVD, according to the Los Angeles Times. Fans will be able to not only discuss the show while watching it on U2's official YouTube channel, but will also be able to donate to Bono's RED charity campaign at the same time.

Are Bono and Steve Jobs on the Rocks?

Apple founder Steve Jobs and U2 frontman Bono have ended their association, Valleywag's Owen Thomas theorizes. And, better yet, he thinks he knows why.

While Bono has publicly and privately supported Jobs, and Apple generally, over the past few years, it looks like the tide has turned more recently. Over the years, Bono has proclaimed Jobs "the Dalai Lama of integration," Jobs has attended a U2 show, and the two have jointly released a U2-styled iPod.

Now, though, Bono sits behind his desk at private-equity firm Elevation Partners and funnels more and more money into Palm, one of Apple's strongest competitors in the smartphone arena. At present, Elevation owns 39-percent of the company, whose executive chairman is former Apple hardware executive Jon Rubinstein.

So why the sudden change of heart?

Thomas hypothesizes that this tiff had its origins in the treatment of one man: former Apple CFO and current Elevation investor Fred Anderson. Anderson resigned from Apple in 2006, following an investigation into Apple's backdating stock options. Anderson was already investing for Elevation at that point, so Thomas theorizes that Bono got a little upset with his old buddy and decided to burn the bridge once and for all. In Thomas's words: "Jobs wasn't just messing with Bono's pal; he was messing with his pocketbook."

And, why act so surprised? If we've learned anything over the past few months, it is that -- say what he will -- Bono ain't no saint. [From: Valley Wag]

Pics of Bono and Bikini-Clad Teens Surface on Facebook

Bono Busted with Bikini-Clad Teens on Facebook
We've heard many things about Bono, including his numerous humanitarian efforts and his love for excessively loud music -- but hadn't heard anything about an apparent penchant for partying with 19-year-olds in bikinis. That's another side of the man the world is seeing after one of those girls posted pictures of her cavorting with the rock star onto Facebook.

The pictures are of 19-year-olds Andrea Feick and Hannah Emerson having fun in Southern France, drinking and engaging in mischief both on land and on a $25-million yacht thought to be owned by U2 guitarist The Edge. The pictures show the girls sitting on Bono's lap and and strolling on the beach with the rocker -- who has been married for 26 years. Naturally, all deny that anything inappropriate happened -- in fact, the girls both say they've been friends with the rockers for years. Regardless, we're guessing these girls will probably be advised to be a little more careful about what they post to Facebook in the future, lest they end up like these poor folks. Bono to Blame for Illegal Leak of Four Tracks From New U2 Album

Bono Fingered for Pre-Release Leak of Own AlbumThe recording industry absolutely loves to take people who share a few songs illegally with others and nail them to the wall. People like Jammie Thomas, who was fined $220,000 for sharing a whole 24 songs online. By that account, we reckon U2's famous front-man Bono may be getting a bill in the mail as it's just been revealed that he is the source for some sharing of a very different sort.

Four tracks from U2's upcoming album 'Sexy Boots' have appeared on Internet file sharing networks for download. According to reports, they were recorded directly from outside of Bono's French villa. Bono was apparently playing the tracks so loudly from his home stereo that a fan passing by was able to capture those four tracks just standing there.

Now, posting those tracks online is most certainly illegal, but if Bono were a little more sensitive to the ears of his neighbors, this wouldn't be a problem, would it?. [Source: TorrentFreak]
