Coca-Cola Readying 100-Flavor Soda Fountains

Early prototypes underwent testing earlier this summer and second-gen units are headed for limited markets early next year -- the same thing they said about those self-cooling bottles last year. Assuming they do come to market, swapping out the highly-concentrated flavors is likened to changing a print cartridge, meaning new choices can come and go quickly depending on popularity. It all sounds refreshing, but we're not looking forward to the lines as the thirsty yet indecisive ponder 15 different flavors of Diet Coke. [From: ajc.com]
World's First Remote-Control Beer Cooler

The soft-sided, collapsible cooler sits atop four wheels and a radio receiver powered by eight "C" batteries (which will survive only three hours of constant use). The round gray plastic remote takes a single 9-volt battery that shouldn't need to be swapped out nearly as often.
After beating back the CES-show-floor-gawkers who were trying to get a good shot of this thing, we were able to get a good look have to admit we were smitten. Yes, it's silly, but it seems to handle well, which makes it really useful for lounge-chair potatoes who like to party!
Now, when you're lounging poolside at your barbecues, you won't have to get up and fetch a beer or hand one over to a friend. Just send out the RC Cooler with a full load of 12 beverages, while you sit back and relax with the remote. The RC Cooler will be available in the Spring, for $49.99, just in time for the lazy host in all of you to pick one up for the first pool party of the season.

Coffee Control
What's worse than having to drag your achy, sleep-deprived body out of bed on Monday morning to trudge to work? How about having to wear gauze wrapped around your tongue because you tried to inhale a blistering hot cup of coffee?
Luckily, Smart Lid Systems believes it has the solution to these modern dilemmas (with the exception of the "going to work" part, unfortunately). The company has developed a special lid that comes with a warning and sealing indicator, alerting you to whether or not the lid is properly sealed. The color of the lid also changes according to the temperature of the bevvie inside, so you know when it's just cool enough to start choking down your morning fix.
