A Computer Mouse You Can Bathe With

Keyboards seem to be more of a target for spilled drinks than mice, what with their wide surfaces covered in nooks and crannies for sticky, sweet beverages to pool in. But, for all of you hypochondriacs out there, Belkin has introduced the appropriately titled Washable Mouse. It's a (disappointingly) corded two-button mouse that has a touch-pad on top for horizontal or vertical scrolling. When the thing accumulates a suitable amount of grunge, you can unplug it and dunk it in the sink if you like, giving it a good scrub.
We met with Belkin last night and got a chance to clean this thing up by dipping it into a bowl full of water, but we can't wait to try it out at home under a faucet or in the dishwasher.
To go along with the mouse, Belkin is also introducing the Mouse Trap, which is a mouse pad that zips up and turns into a mouse carrying case for pointers on the go. This product isn't nearly as technologically-advanced, but is one of those great ideas that you have to wonder why nobody else thought of it before now.
A mousepad/case like this should be a great option for business travelers who have to resort to using random hotel magazines as mouse pads.
