Man Files $1M Lawsuit Against US Airways for Lost Xbox

A Yale student is suing US Airways for $1 million in compensation for his lost Xbox 360 and the emotional toll of attempting to recover it. He claims he had an Xbox 360 with a "specialized hard drive" and other fancy components worth more than $1,000 (is that the kind with the really, really loud drive noise?) in his checked luggage, and when he went to pick up his luggage it was considerably lighter than before, with the Xbox 360 and components found as the only thing missing.

Sounds like no-fun-at-all, and the "run-around" he got with speaking to five different airline employees sounds equally painful, but we're not sure how that all adds up to $1,000,000 -- the maximum allowable by law in his state. US Airways says that not only does the federal limit of liability for lost luggage top out at $3,300, but that electronics checked in luggage are specifically excluded from liability. How kind. Online Game Recreates Heroic Hudson River Plane Landing

Naturally, you've heard the story of US Air Flight 1549, which was successfully crash-landed into the Hudson by a dedicated and amazing crew. That crew got its 15 minutes of fame at the opening ceremonies before Super Bowl XLIII, but now you can play the hero yourself in a free, Web-based Flash game that lets you re-create the challenging landing.

'Hero on the Hudson' was created quickly by Orb Games Limited, supposedly to "remind everyone about this miraculous event," but we're also thinking that selling a few more advertisements was also on people's minds. Either way, the 1.5 million plays the game has received in its first week is serious Internet traffic.

The game was deliberately made to be ridiculously simple (it actually took us three tries to crash), but if you still want to give it a shot, just start clicking above! [From: Gadling and Propeller]

Facebook Fans Honoring Heroic US Airways Pilot

It took only hours but with all the passengers and crew of US Airways Flight 1549 declared safe it was, perhaps, inevitable that a Facebook fan page was crafted in dedication to the pilot who skillfully guided the plane to its controlled landing in the Hudson River off the edge of Manhattan.

Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger III, 57, of Danville, Calif., a former Air Force pilot and now hero to at least 154 other people and their families, is the focal point of -- at latest count -- six different Facebook fan pages, the most popular one with more than 300 members. Many people learned of the crash from their Twitter feeds. It seems a natural progression now to see pages like this one crop up on social networking sites.

Comments such as "I'm a student pilot working my way up the aviation ladder, and you have inspired me today" and "You are a stud. NICE JOB AND THANK YOU!!!!" grace the "The Wall" section of the page.
