Motorola DROID: The Reviews Are In

Motorola's DROID may be the largest threat to Apple's stranglehold on the smartphone market to date, and for good reason. Available starting tomorrow for $199 (with a minimum $70 voice and data monthly plan), the DROID offers lots to like: a sturdy, angular, all-black design; a crystal clear, high-resolution display (854 by 480 pixels); a faster, 550MHz-rated processor; the next-generation Android 2.0 operating system from Google; a physical keyboard; and Verizon's decent call service. Overall, critics see the DROID as a huge step forward for Android-loaded phones, despite there being a few significant kinks to work out. Head after the break to see what the Web is saying:

'Fable II' Hits Xbox 360 to Critical Acclaim

'Fable' was a blockbuster role-playing game (RPG) on the original Xbox. It was fun and deep and involving. However, for many, it still didn't quite live up to expectations. Game creator Peter Molyneux even expressed some disappointment in the title himself, but pledged to do better with its sequel. That sequel, 'Fable II' is now available for the Xbox 360, and it delivers the same basic fantasy gameplay as its predecessor, that of a free-form role-playing game in which you play a wanderer named Albion and travel through a living medieval-esque fantasy world in which the choices you make have a huge influence on your character's progression, choices like whether to rescue a person from robbers or just join in the theft, or whether you should help a merchant in distress or loot all his wares. The reviews are out and overall they're quite positive, finding the game to be an easy affair for the most part, but still well worth your time.

IGN
Score: 88
A "great combat system" makes this one fun to play, and the overall world, with its dynamic and involving economic and social landscape, and player-driven experience are top-notch, but interaction with the various other in-game locals, everything from religious figures to ladies of the night, seem "artificial." In other words, don't expect to have much fun chatting with the locals, but you will enjoy exploring their towns.

Gamespot
Score: 85
The medieval-like world is called "charming" and the choices "profound," and while the difficulty is said to be far too easy, the overall experience of exploration, discovery, and character growth is "immensely rewarding."

Gamespy
Score: 90
"Heartily" recommended. Gamespy found the game to be a fun journey full of "difficult, meaningful decisions" that will have a huge impact on the development of your character as it grows from a young 'un to a grizzled veteran. You'll constantly be tempted by evil and given opportunities to do good, and your choice will your character and your gameplay experience.

Eurogamer
Score: 100
"Inclusive and often thought-provoking, " delivering a "constant challenge without resorting to mindless punishment." This review concludes by saying "'Fable II' will charm you, thrill you, and leave you very, very happy." That, plus the score, should give you an idea of how good this is.

Motorola Krave ZN4 Review Roundup

We had a feeling we'd get a mixed bag of reviews as soon as we first saw the Motorola Krave ZN4 -- it's one of those love it or hate it type things, you know? In some cases, reviewers chose to focus on the positives, noting that it was cute, unique, a good music player and a phone that would last and last without a recharge. Another batch of critics couldn't hold back the whip, pointing out that it lacked Wi-Fi, packed a lackluster browser, included yawn-worthy software and offered a keyboard that was "straight-up awkward."

As expected, overall ratings hovered between just below average to just above average, and it seems this phone will be exactly what you make it out to be. Moto fans will likely have plenty to cheer about, but those without a dog in the fight may want to give the writeups below a more thorough glance before dropping $149.99 and agreeing to a super-sized 2-year commitment.
