Paris Hilton's Web Site Hacked, Distributing Viruses

If you're a Paris Hilton fan, you may want to avoid visiting the glam gal's site for a few days and go elsewhere to find out where she's been partying. Apparently, the starlet is a little loose with her Web security, leaving the site open to attack. Someone has taken advantage, turning ParisHilton.com into a distribution channel for viruses.

A visit to the site now shows a pop-up that installs a Trojan Horse onto your computer. Once installed, it runs in the background and can capture the information you enter (including information about your bank accounts) and can also turn your machine into a so-called "zombie" to turn around and attack other machines. Even worse news is that most virus scanners aren't even able to identify the trojan at this point, seeing it as just a normal application.

So, again, you'd better stick to the tabloids for the next few days! [From: PC World]

Paris Hilton Was Given a Cell Phone in Jail!

Paris Given Cell Phone in Jail?

Just when you thought all the hoopla surrounding Paris Hilton's recent jail-cation was through, things start bubbling up again. Sheriff Deputies in the jail where she resided have raised complaints about preferential treatment given to Paris while she was a guest, including access to a cell phone. While she was gabbing (and likely texting) away in her cage, other inmates were forced to line up for pay phones.

As we've reported previously, cell phones are hot items in jails, highly coveted but thoroughly prohibited. Over 1,000 were confiscated last year in California prisons, leaving a likely even larger number in the hands of inmates, all having been smuggled in through some illegal means. So, with prisoners facing punishment for just being caught with them, its understandable how they might be a teeny bit upset about Ms. Hilton being allowed to use one.
