Madonna, Phish, Neil Young Videos Banned from YouTube

Madonna, the star whose BlackBerry addiction might just have had something to do with her recent unsuccessful marriage, has recently been banned from YouTube after Google and the singer's label, Warner Music Group, failed to reach a content-sharing agreement.

Maddy isn't the only celeb supposedly prevented from having their content posted on the site, as all other Warner artists -- everyone from AC/DC, Bjork and Josh Groban to Phish, Neil Young, and T.I. -- have similarly been recipients of the ban hammer, at least for the official Warner Music videos (believe us, there's plenty of other random videos of all those bands still alive and well on YouTube).

It's unclear exactly why the ban is being put in place, and whether it's Warner or Google that is ultimately responsible for the tiff, but the repercussions will likely be that streaming the Material Girl's classic '80s videos will be a little harder -- but not much. There are certainly plenty of other music video sites out there these days. [From: Silicon Alley Insider]

Live Madonna Concert Streamed Online for Free Tonight

Couldn't get tickets to see the Madonna concert at NYC's Roseland Ballroom tonight? Well, now you don't even have to be in New York for one of the biggest concerts of the year, since MSN.com is streaming the entire show live tonight on its "MSN in Concert" Web site. Unfortunately, the show will only be available live for the Material Girl's U.S. fans, so the rest of the planet has to wait for a free on-demand version coming May 15th. So what will they be missing? In addition to the entire live performance and the debut of her single "Four Minutes", the show will include rehearsal footage, and a pre-recorded interview with Madge.

The show will be filmed by Control Room, the company that filmed the Live Earth concert series. If you're worried about quality, rest assured because 8-10 HD(1080p) cameras will be filming the show and the sound will be Dolby 5.1 surround.

So, if you messed up and forgot to get your significant other tickets, or you just want to watch the concert for free, tonight's your chance. Order some takeout, hook the laptop up to the TV, and make sure you're parked on the couch with that special someone tonight at 10 PM EST.

Madonna and Hubby Guy Sleep With BlackBerrys

Madonna and Hubby Guy Sleep With BlackBerries

Madonna
's been somewhat of a sex symbol since she strutted onto the scene in the '80s wearing her patented bullet-bra lingerie and not much else. Now she's getting on a bit in years but, despite that, she's managing to keep things busy in the bedroom with husband Guy Ritchie -- not in the way you might be thinking, though. In a recent interview with 'Elle Magazine,' the Material Girl confessed that both she and Guy sleep with their BlackBerry phones under their pillows.

Yes, it seems the now maturing and now mildly motherly Madonna can't bear to be more than a few feet away from her favorite mobile, saying this in the interview:
We lie right next to each other with our BlackBerrys under our pillows. It's not unromantic. It's practical. I'm sure loads of couples have their BlackBerrys in bed with them. I have to sleep with my BlackBerry because I often wake up in the middle of the night and remember that I've forgotten something, so I jump up and make notes. Guy's always waiting for me to come to bed, so he plays Brick on his Blackerry until I'm ready.
He wastes his time playing 'Brick' while he waits? Maybe that explains why he hasn't had a good movie in years ...

Madonna to Debut New Album On Cell Phones

madonna vodafone cell phone

The European mobile carrier Vodafone and Madonna have teamed up to promote the release of her new album, "Hard Candy". Vodafone will release one track a day for download to mobile devices during the week preceding the album's official release date on April 28. The songs will cost about $2 each(.99p), except for the album's first single "4 minutes," which is available now for about $2.50.

Madge is the first pop star to pre-release an album by cell network, and with Vodafone's 200 million customers in 25 markets, we're pretty sure this promo will be effective. Unfortunately, while Vodafone owns 45% of Verizon Wireless in America, there have been no similar announcements to distribute the album by cell network in the U.S. Which means hard core American Madonna fans will have to wait online for the inevitable low quality leaks of the new album.

Madonna is no stranger to new forms of distributing music and "Hard Candy" will be the last studio album that the Queen of Pop does under her contract with Warner Music Group. Her new contract with the concert promoter Live Nation will cover future music recordings as well as tours and management of the "Madonna Brand". Looks like Madonna has reinvented herself again, and just in time for her 50th birthday!
