SLICER Lets You Go Sledding in Winter or Summer

Sledding is an activity usually relegated to the winter months. For the tirelessly persistent among you, however, the SLICER sled is trying to make it a year-round pursuit. On the bottom of the sled sits a set of removable 'ICERs', as well as the accompanying molds; you place the ICERs in the molds, fill them with water, and then put them in the freezer for one to two days. The result is essentially a set of ice blocks with the ICERs inside, which you can easily attach to the underside of the sled.

And so yes, this means that for $69.99 you can actually sled down a grassy hill in the dead of summer. Fighting mother nature has never been this fun! Or dangerous! [From OhGizmo]

Gift Guide: Olympus Stylus 1030 SW

Olympus Stylus 1030 SW
(Jock, Under $500)

Point-and-shoot cameras are designed for maximum convenience, but that all usually ends once you get out of the house and into the great outdoors: they just aren't built for spills. Olympus's 1030 SW is pound-for-pound the most rugged camera on the planet, able to snap photos in extreme cold and heat, on land and sea?down to a scuba-worthy 33-feet below. It's also crush proof up to 220 pounds and can take a drop from over six feet. You'll also be happy to know it takes exceptional pictures, has a wide angle lens and 3.6x zoom, and fits comfortably in a pocket. The only question we have is why all other cameras aren't built this well.

Riders pedal through a realistic course, using the handlebars to steer, and then watch their performance afterward and compete against themselves the next time they work out. Gift Guide: Snowball Launcher

Snowball Launcher
(Jock, Under $50)

This is the kind of product that makes you hate your parents for having given birth to you too soon. Despite looking like a Needler from 'Halo,' the Snowball Launcher uses a simple slingshot mechanism built into its body to lob frozen ordinance up to 80-feet away. On top is a three-at-atime snowball packer for high-speed loading -- think of yourself as a Minute Man in the real cold war.

Gift Guide: Freestyle Audio Soundwave

Freestyle Audio Soundwave
(Jock, Under $100)

Oddly enough, we've got years of swimming experience here at Switched, and we've always thought runners and other dryland athletes lucked out -- they're able to use headphones while working out, and swimmers have been stuck swimming lap after lap without any musical beats. The Freestyle Audio Soundwave might offer a glimmer of hope for all those aquatic athletes out there. Although the Soundwave doesn't have the sleek lines of a Zune or the intuitive interface of the iPod, the 2-gigabyte MP3 player is water-safe down to 10 feet and it comes with a pair of waterproof earbuds. The Soundwave works with both Macs and PCs, and comes complete with an FM tuner.

Fishing Master

For the fisherman that "never gets to fish, man," Fishing Master for the Nintendo Wii perfectly captures the drama of the battle between fish and...man, man. The perfectly-tuned controls (the Wii feels like it was made for games like this), along with the simplicity of the mechanics (Buy bait. Go fishing. Go home. Repeat.) make it the perfect way to kill an hour of your weekend afternoon without killing any fish. It's by no means a fishing simulation; Fishing Master would be perfectly at home in your local arcade, but for 40 bucks can be even more conveniently at home in your living room.

V-Moda Vibe

Whether your giftee wants to rock out at the club or work out at the gym, V-Moda's Vibe (and iPhone-compatible Vibe Duo) makes a great choice. Sound quality is higher than many (much) more expensive models (the bass is pretty booming), and the buds fit very snugly in your ears. These $99 buds are also made of solid metal -- unlike your chintzy iPod headphones, which we've broken countless pairs of -- so they can take a beating (and a sweating). They even come with a plastic piece with which to wrap the excess cord, so it doesn't get caught in the spokes of your SoloFlex or random objects in your path, as well as a leather pouch for transport. Oh, and V-Modas come in black and silver, too, if shiny red headphones isn't your thing.
