On Broadway: Wolverine and James Bond Vs. Cell Phones

James Bond (played recently by Daniel Craig) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) are tough guys, but apparently not intimidating enough to silence a cell phone. In a recent production of Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig's 'A Steady Rain' on Broadway, an audience member's phone began ringing, prompting Jackman (without missing a beat or dropping character), to ask the interrupter if they'd like to pick up (video embedded above). As it continued ringing, Jackman even invited the person on stage "if they want to get up and tell their story." Later, another call occurred, and this time Craig retorted.

Despite the rude interjection, it should be noted that both Craig and Jackman -- a Brit and an Aussie, respectively -- kept their accents, and tempers, in check. Also, word to the wise: for the price of a ticket to a sold-out, critically acclaimed show (like 'A Steady Rain'), it's not just the actors that will be annoyed by the cell phone faux pas, but the audience, as well. At least it wasn't a duck. [From: Huffington Post and TMZ]

Blu-ray releases on March 24th 2009

Quantum Of Solace - Blu-rayWe like weeks like this when there is little doubt what the biggest title is. In fact we'd go as far as to call this the James Bond week with MGM releasing the latest addition to the franchise with the 'Quantum of Solace,' as well as some of our favorite classics like 'Goldfinger 'and 'The World Is Not Enough.' Also this week Universal has 'The Fast and the Furious Trilogy' box set -- although we're not sure why we mentioned it -- while Paramount has 'Things We Lost in the Fire,' 'The Kite Runner,' and 'A Mighty Heart.' Next week the top Oscar winner finally hits Blu as 'Slumdog Millionaire' hits the streets.

Sony Ericsson Unveils Latest James Bond Phone

It's Bond time again and that means the inevitable glut of merchandizing tie-ins. First out of the gate is a limited edition Titanium silver Sony Ericsson C902 Cyber-shot which does the honor of promoting the release of the latest 007 exploit dubbed 'Quantum of Solace.'

Besides the color, 007-themed wallpapers, screen savers, and "spy-style" game demo, the C902 slider that actor Daniel Craig will sport during the November theatrical launch is just like the C902 launched way back in February. Oddly enough, no pictures of the new 007 model were provided by Sony Ercisson in the announcement. Fitting though, given Q's disquieting absence from the film we weren't expecting much. SE could certainly learn a thing or two from Nokia about effective product placement. [Source: Sony Ericsson]

Revolving License Plate Helps Speeders Evade Cops

We've all dreamed of getting our hands on some legitimate James Bond-style concealed gadgets, but outside of the pen gun, Q's inventions are the stuff of pure fantasy. Well, for 800 yuan ($115), you can feel like Bond after you install a rotating license plate, just like the one used to evade Goldfinger's henchmen.

A Chinese company has been marketing the spy gadget in its home country where speeders use it to elude speed and traffic cameras. According to the authorities, half of everyone caught on camera speeding or running lights uses either fake plates or some sort of occlusion device, like the plate switcher, to get away scot-free.
