Fujifilm Launches SeeHere Photo Sharing Site With Free Prints

This week, Fujifilm U.S.A. launched SeeHere.com, a new photo site similar to flickr, Picasa and Photobucket. SeeHere is centered around photo storage and sharing, as well as a heavy focus on printing.

The SeeHere desktop software is Windows-only for now, so Mac and Linux users will have to rely on the Web-based interface for uploading photos. We uploaded via a Mac, and the process was as smooth as most sites. SeeHere's interface highlights your computer's directory, and you simply select and upload the desired photos.

In the realm of editing, SeeHere sticks with the bare minimum: Only zoom/crop, rotation, black & white, and sepia options are offered in the Web-based photo editor. Photoshop Express and flickr, on the other hand, also offer exposure adjustment, multiple filters, and a range of other basic and advanced photo editing tools.

Printing is obviously heavily integrated into the site's experience, and you can quickly order prints, posters, photo books, and a range of products from mousepads to coffee mugs plastered with, well... your mug, if you so desire. SeeHere's look is marked by the gradient and bubble-heavy design trends of Web 2.0, which makes the lack of tagging or categorization options even more surprising. Additionally, there isn't any integration with other photo services (e.g. where you could import images from Facebook or Picasa for printing). Outside of a basic share option within each album that lets you create a customized Web page featuring images from your albums, the site lacks the feeling of community seen on sites like flickr. Granted, the site has just launched, but we're hoping additional community features are in the works.

It is great to see SeeHere offering unlimited photo storage, which sets the site apart from many of its brethren that charge for storage over a certain amount. Despite the lack of community and tagging features, the SeeHere's unlimited storage is certainly worth checking out for backup purposes, and the site is offering 100 prints for free starting October 27. FujiFilm Z10fd Digital Camera

Coming at you in a neon rainbow of bright and shiny colors (plus black, natch), Fujifilm's new seven-megapixel camera sports a 3x optical zoom in its ultra-compact body. It's got face detection technology (and automatic red-eye removal), support for IrSimple InfraRed communication (for wireless image transfer to any IrSimple™ equipped device), and a "Blog It" function that allows you to produce online-ready 640x480 or 320x240 images straight in the camera. It's about as far from "professional" as you can get, but at around $150, it's a good deal for discerning fashionistas.
