Logitech's Wave, A New Ergonomic Keyboard

Logitech Unleashes a Wave (Keyboard)

Microsoft's split 'Natural' keyboard has been the go-to device for those interested in ergonomics for a while now -- if only because it was the only choice that wouldn't set you back a couple-hundred bucks. Now Logitech is moving into Microsoft's territory with a new keyboard called the Wave. It's a more traditional design compared to Microsoft's primary option, lacking the divider in the middle that's tripped up so many would-be Natural users.

Instead of splitting the keyboard, Logitech contoured it slightly, shaping the keys to form a very subtle U-shape, similar to another Microsoft ergo-product, the Curve. Logitech also adjusted the height of the keys, placing them individually higher or lower to fit the length of your fingers, and there's a padded wrist-rest to keep users from letting their wrists slouch. At $49.99 for the corded model, the Wave isn't cheap for a keyboard, but it is priced competitively with the latest Natural, the 4000, which will set you back about $35 at most places.

A better deal is the $89.99 package that includes the cordless version of the keyboard along with a laser mouse. It's a bit of a drag that you can't buy the cordless keyboard separately, but anything that helps to stave off carpal tunnel surgery is alright in our book.
