Consumer Reports to AT&T Subscribers: 'Ditch the Zero, Girl!'
Having friends who subscribe to AT&T is a lot like having friends who date awful people. After each dropped call, missed text or garbled conversation, you can reason with them, or berate them, but they just won't give. ("Man, you just don't know AT&T like I do. When it's great, it's great! Have you seen my iPhone?!") Hopefully, reading this Consumer Reports bashing will have the effect of ...
The hopes and fears of all New Yorkers will at once come true, thanks to yesterday's announcement that the city's plan to outfit subway stations with Wi-Fi and cell service are, once again, moving forward. We all knew it would happen eventually; three years ago, the MTA and Transit Wireless struck a deal that would outfit stations, but not tunnels, with wireless access. Still, some of us had hoped ...
Having trouble finding a signal with your new iPhone 4? Apple says it's probably your own fault.
As it turns out, if you hold the phone in a way that blocks the iPhone's bottom left-hand corner, you might experience technical difficulties. Responding by e-mail to a frustrated iPhone 4 user and Engadget reader, Steve Jobs reportedly said, "Just avoid holding it that way."

Now, the bad ...

The Associated Press reports that the American Customer Satisfaction Index for cell phone service registered an all-time favorable high (three points above last year) during the first quarter of 2010. The survey, encompassing 11,000 U.S. households, rated ...
Every so often, you just need to unplug, get far away from technology, and go someplace where it is all but impossible for somebody to reach you, even in the case of an emergency. Those looking to escape the encroaching digital crush have routinely fled to areas of the world where there is little sign of modern life -- places like the 100-Mile Wilderness in Maine, the Amazon Rain Forest, or ...
It's no surprise that Americans are overpaying for cellular service, but you may be disturbed to learn exactly how much cash you're actually coughing up per minute of air time. A new study from the Utility Consumers' Action Network (UCAN) estimates that people are paying an average of $3.02 per minute of actual talk time.
Of course, that average is skewed by a relatively small percentage of ...
