Starbucks nationwide to close for emergency re-training Feb. 26 {BloggingStocks}

Feb 14th 2008 1:00PM Mouse - the reason Wawa hasn't expanded beyond their small area is because they actually put quality before quantity, unlike Starbucks. Wawa only has stores that are within 1 day's drive of their dairies, to ensure that all their products are fresh. It is sad, though, that the vast majority of this country will never know the joy that is Wawa coffee. I moved from DE to NY 18 months ago, and whenever I go back I always have to get my fix - better than DD, and WAY better than SBux. Man, I miss Wawa....

Five Things to Consider When Buying A Laptop-6 {Switched.com}

Feb 5th 2008 3:16PM Another instance of "experts" getting it wrong. AMD processors, when compared with their Intel counterparts, are every bit as powerful, and usually less expensive. All of the CGI in Star Wars Revenge of the Sith was done on AMD processors - how's that for an underpowered, economy chip? AMD was the first of the two companies to release a 64-bit processor, and Intel had to play catch up. Intel's not the only game in town. I'd buy a Sempron before the Celeron. All a Celeron is, is a chip that failed Intel testing - even making it dual core won't make it any better. You can't game on it, no higher end graphics...yes, a Sempron is low end, but that's what it was designed for.
These people are nitwits!

Five Things to Consider When Buying A Laptop-4 {Switched.com}

Feb 5th 2008 3:09PM Good call, Joseph - all of those games, plus a lot more, are available for the Mac. I hate it when people who know nothing about the Mac talk about it like they're experts.
Anything you could want to do on a PC, you can do on a Mac, and most of it with the built-in software. These people try to make it sound like you won't be able to do anything. Losers.

Akon Axed by Verizon Over Simulated Rape {TMZ}

May 15th 2007 1:35PM Ok, here's the thing...she was underage, and the club shouldn't have let her in there in the first place. The club was at fault. If Akon was told that everyone at that club was supposed to be over a certain age, how was he to know that she was 15? There's no way he would have known. Performers don't card girls before they bring them on stage - in this instance, it was the club's job to do that, and they failed.

I don't condone Akon's actions towards this young girl, but the fault lies with the club, not with Akon.

And as a side note, you can't say "rape" when the victim is perfectly willing and happily going along with it. Whether it's simulated or not.
