Rush Limbaugh Incites a Denver Riot? {Political Machine Blog}

Apr 28th 2008 8:11PM OK, so now Rush Limbaugh's smoking crack! Dude's not even a joke any more. He's been downgraded to a punch line.

Like his followers (what do they call themseves, "zipperheads"?) are really going to riot anywhere on HIS word.

NY Times Assails Clinton, Calls for End to Primary {Political Machine Blog}

Apr 23rd 2008 9:50PM BTW, how come Barrack didn't hang out and kick with his campaign staff and volunteers after his loss?

Seems strange, doesn't it? After all the work and hope they put in, they deserved it. You know, the chance to touch the hem of his garment and so on...

Of course, he would have had to concede that he lost, instead of putting as much distance as possible between himself and the scene of his humiliation before delivering his standard campaign speech. That couldn't be it. That would be self-serving. That would be "politics as usual."

So maybe he felt they were unworthy, that they'd somehow failed him. Maybe, elitist that he is, he was embarrassed by them. Maybe, after their work was done, they just didn't matter to him anymore; he had nothing to gain by staying and thanking them, so they just weren't worth the effort.

Maybe after all, he really IS out to change politics. Treating your loyal supporters like used condoms, now that's "change you can believe in."

NY Times Assails Clinton, Calls for End to Primary {Political Machine Blog}

Apr 23rd 2008 9:32PM So let's do some math...

Obama cut Hilary's lead by 10 percent...or 230,500 votes...

But he spent 11.2 million in TV ads to do it. That's $48.51 per vote.

Hilary got 1,260,208 votes, and only spent 4.8 mil...that's only $3.81 per vote.

There isn't enough money in the Middle East to put him over the top in November.

You have to work for your money! {WalletPop}

Jan 23rd 2008 7:48AM Friend of mine found $5,000 in her bank account one day. After months of back and forth with the bank, they insisted that it was hers, and that if they investigated any further, they would have to charge HER $75.00/hour in accounting fees.

She asked them to send her a letter to that effect. When she received it, BAM, new furniture.

I think she did the "right thing" by going to the bank,and the right thing by spending the money.

Real Life Pirate Hangouts {Gadling}

May 28th 2007 8:20AM "One thing is for sure: they aren't smart. As recent as 2006, a group of grenade-launching pirates attacked two U.S. Navy warships 25 miles from the coast of Somalia."

This is a tradfitional paratical problem, though it's difficult to see haw anyone could make this mistake today. In the 1720s though, merchant ships were often intentionally made to resemble warships. A pirate team consisting of captains Ned Low and Charles Harris accidentally attacked several warships, including two Royal Navy ships loaded with marines, during their brief career in the early 1720s. Most of the time, they realized their error and attempted to escape.

Until June 11, 1722, when Low in the *Fancy* and Harris in the *Ranger* spotted a large merchantman leaving harbor at Newport, Rhode Island. After a brief pursuit, the merchantman came about and opened fire. They had inadvertently attacked the HMS *Greyhound*, Peter Solgard, Captain.

The battle lasted for about an hour. The pirates soon realized their error and tried to flee. It looked as though Harris would escape, until a ball from the Greyhound carried away the Ranger's mainsail, reducing her headway. When overtaken by the warship, Ranger's crew surrendered. Of the 48 aboard, eight had been wounded.

Low escaped, but Harris and 24 of his crew were hanged at Newport on July 19, 1723.

Surprisingly, many ship's captains do not make enough money to keep their families on shore.

Not-So-Earth-Friendly Tech (2) {Switched.com}

Apr 19th 2007 11:42AM Well, I see the "Pave The Earth" crowd is weighing in with the usual Republi-cr@p.

According to Andrew,

"What a weak report full of liberal produced farces & lies. Go ahead and take advantage the lie-of-the-day so you can elevate your own pseudo fame by having your name attached to a story."

Andrew, try clicking your heels together and saying "Liberal" three times. It won't change much of anything, and it will look pretty stupid. But then...

"AOL has turned into a site generating too much liberal pollution of its own by allowing reports like this one to be posted."

Sorry Andrew, you're forgetting about freedom of speech. I know it's difficult. I keep forgetting that the constitution doesn't matter (except of course the part about the right to purchase assault weapons. That part is sacred!)

This crowd will be whining just as laoudly about the need for universal health care when they come down with environmentally induced cancers a few years down the line.
