Despite Heath Ledger's Death, 'Dark Knight' Marketing Campaign Continues {Switched.com}

Feb 8th 2008 8:56AM I see no reason to stop advertising. Heath as an actor was probably not very involved to begin with- To me the viral campaign was about the legacy of a character decades old that Heath Ledger had only just become part of. From everything I've seen and heard his talent added several wonderful dimensions but he was an artist and I think his art will always be a tribute to his legacy, not something that would cause his family pain.

With that said, I do appreciate that the studio has stopped promoting the film for now. I think a period of mourning and respect is certainly in order. I have Never felt more regretful or personally upset by another public death. It's been expressed and I believe that the actors and creators of The Dark Knight are also upset by the tragedy and I think they have and will continue to deal with the loss respectfully.

Heath put his heart into his work. I'd love to see his legacy live on in a well done and beautiful film.

Dave Chappelle: "TMZ Be F***in' People Up!" {TMZ}

Dec 18th 2007 9:45AM I don't hear any rambling, he makes perfect sense to me. Why ARE more people going to TMZ.com than CNN? Is Dave Chappelle's cigarette break really newsworthy? I think not wanting to be the center of attention like this so much is why he quit the show. It makes sense on the one hand because who wants no privacy ever? On the other hand I'm sad because I think he's a smart man who could have a lot to offer the entertainment business.

Also, I think not wanting to be "buffoonish" is a big part of why he quit too. It's like you can joke around until you realize people WANT to laugh at you, not with you 99% of the time.

ps. his wife is filipina so his kids are half, not Cambodian.

Imus, Sharpton and the Double Standard of Race {AOL Elections Blog}

Apr 11th 2007 12:39PM The difference is, no one's saying "popular rappers" are great people either, and they're not trying to pretend they are... they claim to shoot people, deal drugs, cheat on their wives/girlfriends, and almost every other immoral and unacceptable behavior they can think of. Does that mean if a radio jockey shoots someone he can say, "Well, popular rappers do it" and we'll all just laugh and shrug and agree about how right he is? Come on, that's a ridiculous argument.

I agree that Al Sharpton and quite a few other prominent personalities have said very negative and unproductive things, but you can't call a team of women whores and insult the dominant signifier of their race without it being a racist remark. Let's not forget he also called them jigaboos which is in my opinion very difficult to excuse. I'm pretty positive That isn't a rap song title.

Even on the issue of blatant sexism- no one criticizes male basketball teams based on their sexual attractiveness- Imus was clearly out of line and I refuse to excuse it on any level.

Apr 11th 2007 12:21PM I think he's trying to point out how stupid those theories are, which I appreciate. The boy has legitimate fans. Leave him alone.
