How to Make US Broadband Competitive - Quickly and Cheaply {Blog Maverick}

Apr 13th 2008 12:03PM Mark: Get AT&T Uverse. It's digital and gives you more HD channels than any other delivery vendor in the US at the moment. Give up on cable going digital anytime in our lifetimes as the rebuild of that infrastructure would be too expensive.

Hype Check: Dyson DC24 Vacuum Cleaner {Switched.com}

Apr 13th 2008 11:16AM I own the yellow DC-14 Dyson, which I bought off of Woot.com as a refurbished unit and it is awesome! My wife and I have owned several vacuums over the years including some very expensive Hoovers and other leading brands, but the bottom line is that the Dyson outperforms all of them. It is easy to use, easy to push and easy to clean. Totally worth the money. Yes it's all plastic but as long as you respect that, you will love a Dyson.

Gateway's new GM5664 desktop does Blu-ray and HD DVD, has kid brother that doesn't {Engadget}

Jan 30th 2008 12:33PM Gateway and their eMachines subsidiary have had the worst repair and support records of all PC makers for several years now. My daughter's eMachine that she bought one year ago turned out to be an erratic low performer with ZERO support from Gateway/eMachines. I would suggest that people avoid PCs from Gateway/eMachines.

Honda Fit named Japanese Car of the Year {Autoblog}

Dec 7th 2007 1:09PM I bought a Sport Trim 2008 Honda Fit about 3 weeks ago. Honda only offers a basic trim and the sport trim here in the US. First off the body style and interior is a bit different than the photo gallery on this site. There are available photos on the web of the 2009 Fit which looks much better. Second, Honda doesn't offer near the amount of accessories for the Fit (like roof racks) that they offer in other countries. Third, there is no mirror in the visor on the passenger side for those of us who actually travel with a female in our car on occasion or should I say for those of us who know a female other than one's mother? I would gladly pay for a driver's visor from Japan, Australia or the UK as it would look better on the US passenger side than my Wal-Mart mirror.

Bonjour! Can we give you the Ethnic Paris Cookbook? {Slashfood}

Mar 29th 2007 2:06PM The mere possession of such a tome will allow me to escalate my kitchen creations beyond the realm of grilled cheese sandwiches to height rarely reached by mere mortals, for example actually turning on the oven without the aid of an instruction manual.
