McCain's Convention Nightmare {Political Machine Blog}
Jul 7th 2008 5:59PM Considering that the Republican Party has been hijacked by the most extreme elements of the right, if the Party is to survive at all, it has to change; and change a lot!
Republicans used to be the people just to the right of the Center; people who were cautious, and who felt that too much change was a bad thing. Now, the GOP is full of extremists of every shape; from religious to monetary to out-and-out Facists.
This is not the Republilcan party I grew up with; it's some ugly imitation stuck up there by people with axes to grind and agendas to force.
Either the Party changes, or it will die; marginalized into non-viability in the political arena.
Gadgets Gone Evil 14 {Switched.com}
Mar 21st 2008 7:18PM Some of these incidents seem to be evolution in process, removing people from the gene pool; while other occurances appear to be part of Murphy's law in action.
Either way, it shows that one should never let one's intelligence be overawed by an electric appliance.
Angry Girlfriend Smashes Laptop {AOL Video Blog}
Feb 28th 2008 2:44PM What she's DOING is called Grand Theft and Domestic Violence. The guy who took the TV is Receiving Stolen Property.
This isn't funny at all; it's tragic for her.
Apply for a U.S. passport card on February 1 {Gadling}
Jan 31st 2008 4:34PM Get the card! In a few years, you'll need it for interstate trips or even perhaps intra-state (over three hundred miles in the same state).
Face it, the right to freely travel is shrinking ever smaller, and the Government is intruding ever farther into our lives. Eventually we'll all need a "Citizen's I.D." like the old Communists used, and for the same reason: to keep track of our movements.
Also-at the very least, it's a bullet-proof I.D. (and you'll need those for your driver's license).
Hot Seat: Presidential Powers {Political Machine Blog}
Dec 31st 2007 4:27PM It isn't the POWER...it's the PERSON weilding it. If we were more careful as to who we elect as President, this prolem wouldn't have come up.
The death of the home phone {BloggingStocks}
Dec 12th 2007 6:24PM Why not just merge the Land and Air services? You would have one phone number, and if your cell was active (as in not in charge mode or off) your calls would go to that phone first; then after four rings, it would switch to the land line.
This service was offered some years back; it's time to revive it.
Ear modification: bad for your elf {Massively}
Nov 7th 2007 11:17PM This would have been hot back in the days of Original Star Trek: real Spock Ears!
Next, maybe for Werewolf fans, how about the Wulfen "Cup and Point" ears of a Werewolf or related FantaSpecies?
What's scary is that they might actually work better than normal humanoid ears for locating sound sources...
Microsoft Caves to Consumer Pressure, Extends Windows XP's Lifespan {Switched.com}
Sep 28th 2007 10:10PM After a few years, the bugs will be out of Vista, and it'll be a usable system. Problem is, just about when MS has Vista working right, they'll bring out something New and buggy as hell. I tried Vista-and I'm glad my OS is Win xp. It works...period.
Bill O'Reilly Attacks JetBlue and Gets Grounded {News Bloggers}
Jul 18th 2007 1:49PM Face it: O'Reilly is a shock-jock. That he is on FOX isn't all that surprising; the radical right does have the right to be as silly as the radical left.
As for Jet Blue, I agree that they should use this as advertising...there are a lot of us who would choose not to spend a flight with Bill O'Reilly over meeting him by chance on another airline.
He's as big a jerk as any of the Ultra-Libs.
Kid Trapped in Vending Machine {News Bloggers}
Jul 14th 2007 1:36PM On another note, I remember having a "harness and leash" that my mother held onto, so I couldn't go running off.
Perhaps this item should make a comeback.
After all, it works for dogs...
