China's Empty Cities: These Satellite Images Will Shock You (AOL Real Estate)

Mar 6th 2013 3:35PM This story illustrates the dangers of a command economy. The government in China decided what things should be like and tried to make their dreams come true with hugely overreaching construction projects. IT DOESN'T WORK. In a market economy, demand drives production. When more construction is needed, it happens in order to meet the demand. Is anyone in Washington paying any attention to this?

Mar 1st 2013 9:01AM A note to the "just grow up and follow the rules" posters: That's what blacks were told when laws were passed that prevented them from voting, going to decent schools, and eating in desegregated restaurants.

Supposed 'Eco-Friendly' Homes Doubled Owners' Energy Bills (AOL Real Estate)

Feb 7th 2013 1:28PM The lesson here is that "green" energy doesn't mean inexpensive energy. Those selling it that way need to be imprisoned for fraud, and that includes government officials.

Top American Destinations To Avoid In 2013 (Gadling)

Jan 8th 2013 5:25PM They blew it on Salt Lake City. It's long since become a myth, perpetuated by people who didn't do their homework, about not being able to get a drink, it's within easy driving distance of world-class skiing, and it makes a great home base for summer outdoor recreation.

Police Can Install Hidden Cameras on Private Property Without a Warrant, Judge Rules (AOL Real Estate)

Nov 3rd 2012 8:34AM When I began reading the article, I thought it was going to be a frightful example of invasion of privacy. I changed my mind when I read that neither Manuel Mendoza nor Marco Magana owned or leased the land. That indicates that they had no legitimate business on the property. Does one have an expectation of privacy on private property while trespassing? I don't think so.
