Heavy metal {That's Fit}

Jun 7th 2008 10:24PM No scientific study has implicated aluminum as the cause of ANY disease (and it ISN'T a heavy metal"). The gullible and paranoid "detox" with high magnesium doses, yet take selenium and "colloidal minerals" laced with lead and strontium at toxic levels to get healthy. Want to buy a bridge?

Sony's HDR-HC9 camcorder gets reviewed {Engadget HD}

May 18th 2008 1:16PM Ever see a professional grade camera that DOESN'T use DV or miniDV tape? Due to high compression, hard drives and solid state media store an inferior image. Also remember that the most failure-prone part in your computer is the hard disk drive. Camcorders are even rougher on the drive! As to solid-state media, compression is even worse! Memory sticks have a limited life of read/write cycles and more failure prone than inexpensive miniDV tapes that can be digitally copied easily.

MiniDV if you want the best, Hard Drive if you want a toy!

Wright Reactions {Political Machine Blog}

Apr 29th 2008 2:15PM Rev. Wright has every right to speak as he chooses, just as we have the right to repudiate his racist and bigoted viewpoint. People of his ilk are the same as those of the KKK or white supremacist movement, just on the other side of the fence. If Sen. Obama wants to lead this country, he needs to clearly distance himself from these views.

"Bachelor" On Hunt For Human Remains {TMZ}

Mar 21st 2008 4:14PM His mission had two goals:
1) Recover and identify remains of those who died in service to their country.
2) Training to maintain skills for other military missions that may be critically important.
If you want to complain about the few bucks being spent, might I suggest you actually
perform service to your country once in a while. Remember, also, that the biggest waste
of money is the port-barrel spending our elected representatives routinely vote for.

Richard Williams Calls Tennis Racist ... Again {Fanhouse Backporch}

Mar 20th 2008 7:07PM Racism is racism, regardless of color. I'm not always able to change my thoughts, but I CAN change my behavior. Some will change their behavior with experience and learning, some will hang onto their bigotry until they die. Sounds like this man is one of the latter kind. I'm sorry for him.

Tip of the Day: How to make clear ice cubes {Slashfood}

Mar 18th 2008 3:05PM NEVER use hot water from the tap to make ice cubes! Hot water has too many minerals dissolved from the pipes and will alter the taste (never use hot water from the tap to make coffee either!). Either use a countertop hot water tap or boil/microwave the water yourself if you need clear ice cubes.
ps. water can contain more dissolved solid substances (sugar/salt etc) when hot, but dissolved gases escape more readily with heat - just like soda pop loses its fizz when warmed)

Open Letter: Star Jones Checks Bill O'Reilly's Racist Remark {Black Voices Blog}

Feb 27th 2008 11:06PM So where were all of you when Charles Barkley said "That's why I hate white people!" and not a negative word was said?

Open Letter: Star Jones Checks Bill O'Reilly's Racist Remark {Black Voices Blog}

Feb 27th 2008 10:03PM Anyone here wonder what would happen on AOL if they also started a "White Voices" section? How about a "White History" week on TV? "NAAWP"? "United Caucasion College Fund"? If you want to find racism, look no farther than organizations that are race-specific. If you want to find sexism, look no further than organizations or businesses that are gender-specific. Racism and sexism are not the province of any one race or gender!

Open Letter: Star Jones Checks Bill O'Reilly's Racist Remark {Black Voices Blog}

Feb 27th 2008 9:52PM Lynching a racist comment? Lynchings were not unknown in the Old West, and more whites than blacks ended up on the end of rope at the hands of a mob. Star Jones is just wanting to get a bit of free publicity to boost her waning career by playing the "Black/Racist" card, just like Al Sharpton.

Microsoft VP: "I personally got burnt" by Vista Capable stickers {Engadget}

Feb 14th 2008 8:54PM Does it really matter? Microsoft is a complete monopoly and anyone that uses a PC will do exactly as Microsoft says. Even the government is powerless to rein in Billy G.
