Jan 21st 2008 8:13AM I hate when people say, oh you're using the past as excuses for not achieving. Some people can and do become a product of their environment. I graduated from a Detroit Public school in 1994 without the knowledge of almost anything. In our school system we still had history books with the word negro in them. Our textbooks were so old and outdated, it seemed impossible to recieve a decent academic education. While the white kids in upper class suburbs were learning modern technology, we had barely enough computers to go around. As for college applications, well you had to be an honor student just to get information to apply to universities. Our teachers barely made enough money and were on strike every year. With little pay, little resources and over crowded classrooms, teachers never really had the time or patience to deal with the individual student. So easy to slip through the cracks. So with college not being an option, most of my environment went to work right after high school, that is of those who graduated from high school. We still want the american dream..So we sale drugs, we steal, we rob. Growing up poor without alot of support from teachers, parents and community, there's not alot of options. Besides, like Chris Rock said, whites got a 200 year head start.

Nov 19th 2007 5:06AM I see the bloggers who wrote about the hanging of a noose from a tree must have been scared away as the FBI was contacted. You idiots, don't think because they say this is a free country that it actually is. Sorry to say but there are alot of rules and regulations to abide by, and you just crossed one of them. To have a website about hanging blacks from trees is an illegal crime punishable by law. Face huge fines, probation or jail time. Be very careful what you post online because Big Brother is always watching.

He made the statement about George dumbass Bush due to his ignorance and incompetance dealing with the Katrina situation. He made the statement to bring about media awareness of how so many black people could have been ignored in a life and death situation. Kanye had the platform and the guts to say what so many people believed anyway. Not just blacks but other races as well, including whites.
