Apr 4th 2007 3:40PM I've tried the BlackJack, the Treo 650 & 680... and finally settled on the Pearl. Despite a few shortcomings (including the SureType keyboard which is sadly not what I had hoped - too many mistakes and wrong word predictions) it seems to be the very best phone for someone looking for email/web/maps/txt and a reasonably small and sleek package. Plus that pearl is hella fun to diddle...

Sep 21st 2006 7:57PM These open-ear designs must take more power to drive than an in-ear design, yet this is all I see coming out these days. A set of bluetooth headphones with long battery life could end up as a defacto communications piece of "jewelry" that folks end up wearing almost all day to either answer calls or listen to music, so it has to be a lot smaller to be comfortable and gain wider acceptance. Some kind of receiver/control dongle hanging off as a pendant might be the answer to keeping the head-piece small and svelt. But the big foam pads are just not doing it for me.
