Climate Scientists Urge Aggressive Action to Curb Global Warming (Politics Daily)
May 24th 2010 2:37PM Most recent surveys show the polar icecaps are growing. But surveys are science.
The idea that because CO2 has gone up and surface temperatures have also gone up means nothing. It is a correlation only in the sense that both variables are headed in the same direction. The odds of this being the case are 50% A similar correlation exists between CO2 and breast cancer. There is no cyclic variable in the global warming studies. (If we include proxy measurements, ice core samples - they have CO2 lagging temperature not leading) If CO2 had gone up and down 4 times and ground temperature had followed - that could be interesting, but would only start to mean something after 10 to 100 cycles. If CO2 had gone up and down several times and global temperatures had followed there would be a meaningful correlation, yet that would still fail to show cause and effect - (they both could be caused by a third factor).

11-Year-Old Fights for Health Care Reform After Mother's Death (BV Black Spin)
Mar 12th 2010 10:04AM It is sad when people stoop to using children for political gain. It shows desperation and the fact that their side is weak on the issue. You can find hundreds of cases of people who died due to rationed care and long waits in places like the UK, Canada, France where they already have universal healthcare. How about the 18 that died of exposure while in the hospital in Cuba last month?
Sen. David Vitter Confronted By Local Rape Victim (Politics Daily)
Nov 3rd 2009 11:04AM Look at the vote: 68-30. This means at the very least, 29 dems voted against it and at most 30 dems voted for it and Obama was against it. So how is it the Repubs fault. For or against, this was a bi-partisan vote. And we are to believe a staffer of the Louisiana Democrateic Party just happened to be there with a video camera with no prior knowledge. What proof is offered that she really is a rape victim. Why has she not been named. She publicly announced she was a victim, so no privacy is expected. This is what's wrong with partisan politics. You can't trust either party. Staged confrontations in front of cameras designed to try to make someone look bad. The lemmings on both the right and left need to wake up. They are as much a part of the problem as the crooked politicians.

Bad call: Wall Street urged caution as GE shares soared (Daily Finance)
Aug 30th 2009 2:37PM What the author of the story fails to tell you is the following about the GE stock picture:
YTD -13.09% 1 Year -49.89% 3 Year -58.91% 5 Year -56.77%
Yes, the stock is up 65% from the last 6 months, but is still down 13.9% for the 2009. The last 12 months is down 49.89% and the five year picture a whopping negative 56.77%. Yes, if you bought $100,000.00 in GE stock 5 years ago it would only be worth $43,230.00 now. That is one of the worst performers in the DJ.
In addition : EPS (TTM) 1.30 1yr EPS Growth -37.07%
Earnings per share are down this year by 37%, bad news for any company. And Mkt Capitol Chg : -1.16 B .
The article does tell you this at least: "Except for Energy Infrastructure, all of the company's businesses posted double-digit declines in the most recent quarter. NBC Universal plunged 41 percent." I don't think Olberman's contribution is positive.
I wouldn't put my hard earned money in GE just yet.
More than half of U.S. 'clunkers' traded in for foreign cars (Daily Finance)
Aug 5th 2009 2:01PM A Hummer H-3 is a qualifying vehicle for this program. That really helps on the gas issue. Why are our tax dollars used subsidize those who have old cars in order to buy a new one? Oh yeah, a pay-off to the UAW for their votes. First we bailout the GM and Chrysler to the tune of 8o billion, and now we give a taxpayer rebate for new cars. We reward those who have old p.o.s. cars using tax money from those of us who bought more fuel efficient cars on our own.
Why a Doctor in Congress Has No Health Insurance (Politics Daily)
Aug 5th 2009 1:16PM Kagen and Jill have it all wrong. The "listening session" is supposed to be a time for the congressmen to listen to the American people. I watched the video. No unruly mob. Just angry voters who want to excerise their 1st amedment rights be heard and don't want to hear the BS lies these congressmen are trying to sell. No seniors covering their ears, the seniors were talking part in the protest. The Dems and their media cronies are starting to sound like the KKK during civil rights marches as they call them "mobs" and state that lot of them were "outside agitators". Here's a dumb congressman who was in too big a hurry to look at the coverage, and is now trying to sell it as an action to try to protect the common people. How gullible do they think we are?
No Use Crying Over Spilled Beer Diplomacy (Politics Daily)
Aug 2nd 2009 7:42PM Amonentt:
You are making the same mistake as our President. You don't have all the facts but are making a judgement. I am not compliant, just respectful.
I am 64 years old. I marched in many of those civil rights events. In the early 70's, during race riots in my home town of Paris, Texas, I stood in the middle with others and tried to stop the violence. I was called Uncle Tom by some and uppity "n" by others. I was hit in the shin with a brick whcih fractured my bone. I have had lunch at a table with Mrs. Medgar Evers. I have filed a race discrimination lawsuit against a fomer emplyer an won the case. Dr King was never uppity, but he did always treat others with respect, even those who hated and attacked him. It is a strategy that advanced the black man in America more than anything else. I have had the back of our new generation, who seem to sometimes forget what we sacrificed to get us this far. My family is bi-racial with black, white, and mixed.Next time try a little yes sir and see how far it helps. Treating people with respect will do a lot more towards being treated with respect, dignity, and equality.
I respect and support Mr. Obama, but he is only human and made a mistake this time. We need to move forward to backward to get complete equality.

Aug 2nd 2009 1:20PM I once locked my car keys inside the car. I was trying to open the lock with a clothes hanger when the cops came up hands on holsters. I told them it was my car and I had locked the keys inside. They asked for my ID. I gave it to them without question. They ran my registration and say it was my car. They then asked my to verify my name address and dote of birth. I did so and responded very respectfully (yes sir and no sir). They then gave me back my idea, pulled out a slim jim, and opened my car for me. Oh yeah, I'm black and they were white and we were in Texas. I thnaked them for protecting my property and making sure I was the owner before leaving.
I imagine that if I had instead responded "I'll give my ID to yo mama!" and then accused them of being racist because I was black, it would have probably ended up just like Gates.
Obama's error was to say the following 2 phrases in the same discussion, "I don't know all the facts" and "the police acted stupidly". If you don't know all the facts, then you don't know if the police acted studidly or properly.
