David Schwimmer Turns Historic Home Into Teardown (AOL Real Estate)
Feb 8th 2012 9:28PM How many East Village townhouse built in 1852 do you know about that are still stanging? That alone is worthy of preservation in a lot of peoples minds.
David Schwimmer Turns Historic Home Into Teardown (AOL Real Estate)
Feb 8th 2012 9:25PM I hate it when people who can afford to spend millions to build anywhere they want choose to destroy historical buildings and use that property for their ultra modern palaces. This townhouse was a landmark-worthy East Village townhouse built in 1852 and should have been protected from animals. I have no respect for this man.
Blueseed: 'Startup Incubator' Could Sail Past Immigration Law (AOL Real Estate)
Feb 8th 2012 9:04PM A few comments seem overly pessimistic about the purpose of this ship / community. They skimmed the article instead of reading it and understanding who will be using the ship, how they will use it and why. Several of the comments seem to want to shut down future developments in Silicon Valley technology in favor of keeping those darned foreigners out of our country.
Chainsaw-Wielding FBI Team Busts Into Wrong Home (AOL Real Estate)
Feb 2nd 2012 8:41AM The article said about 10 FBI men raided the apartment. Wouldn't you think that at least one of them would have noticed they were attacking the wrong apartment? How can such a horrendous error happen? Maybe it's time to send "about 10 men" back to the academy for a refresher course in Home Breaking 101. I think the woman should be allowed to lead an unannounced raid at 3 AM on each of their homes in return using the same tactics. Whoever handled the pre-attack briefings and led the team should be fired.
Cascading changes likely for cruise travelers (Gadling)
Jan 25th 2012 12:27PM I should expect that if a Captain of a ship falls ill or is injured someone else is next in line to step up and take his place. That person should be charged with the additional responsibility to not only report any deviation from assigned / approved course but, with the aid of other officers, take control away from the Captain to prevent him from making unapproved course changes on his own while at sea.
I'm somewhat surprised that the author added the suggestion of background checks of all passengers to prevent registered sex offenders from taking cruises. While I have no sympathy for sex offenders what's next? Background checks at Shopping Mall Entrances and Theaters? I'd be very surprised to learn there are many rapes on ship board. But if that is a problem maybe a few police officers patrolling the passenger accessible areas of the ship would prevent that or use of more surveillance cameras. An alternative is telling parents with children to keep their eye on their kids and don't let them wander around the ship alone. A ship is not a playground and the crew are not baby sitters.
HUD Renegs on Letting Evicted 101-Year-Old Return Home (AOL Real Estate)
Jan 23rd 2012 6:10PM Sullivan said. "The home isn't safe; it's not sanitary. It's certainly not suitable for anyone to live in, especially not a 101-year-old mother." Sullivan is a heartless miserable animal. Maybe "he" wouldn't want to live there but this old lady sure does. The house was suitable and sanitary enough for the lady to attain the age of 101 Years. I'll bet it is still suitable enough to last her the rest of her life if government would just leave her alone. Is Sullivan "trying" to kill her? Why?

Elin Nordegren Bulldozed $12 Million Mansion Due to Bugs (AOL Real Estate)
Jan 10th 2012 8:35PM All you people critical of her for buying the house w/o a termite inspection are wrong. She loved the location and the house and bought it with hopes of getting rid of the bugs and restoring the house. But the house which was built in the 1920's wasn't built to today's hurricane code. She liked it so much she hired professionals to see if they could get rid of the bugs and bring the house up to code. They decided it was too expensive so she had it leveled and is building a new house almost identical in design to the old one. It's all in the article folks. Must be nice eh?

Tennessee Home Burns as Firefighters Watch (AOL Real Estate)
Dec 7th 2011 11:51AM Less than three weeks until Christmas. I wonder if any of those
firemen will think about this family when they are enjoying Christmas
Dinner and the company of friends and family? Why on earth aren't the
lousy firefighting fees built into the Tax Assessment or go ahead and
fight the fire and bill the homeowner? We read an identical story just
about a year ago and still the same problem exists. How sad. According
to the article the firemen weren't doing anything except watching the
fire burn like a bunch of cub scouts at a camp fire. They are only there in case someones life is at risk. Kinda' adds insult to injury. Well, they now have one more homeless family in the Town of Fulton, Tn., with no clothing or any other belongings. It's a lousy law. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
