Mid-East Cable Cuts Now Affecting 85-Million -- Are Terrorists Involved? {Switched.com}
Feb 8th 2008 12:03PM Has it ever occurred to any of you that good old Americans could be the terrorists? I mean, how would the middle east benifit by cutting the cables to their own network? Duh.It makes a lot of sense that some far-thinking American would realize the benifit of crippling their networks. We always have been known to be resourceful in a crisis~~remember the Revolutionary war???We didn't follow the rules did we?
Single ancestor traced back for blue-eyed people {That's Fit}
Feb 4th 2008 11:58AM green eyes and hazel eyes and all other eye color except brown are genetically considered recessive and not dominent. So genetically they're all "blue".

Feb 4th 2008 10:59AM Hey Joy guess what? You also carry the blue eyed trait so your children could have blue eyes if you marry a person who has brown eyes but carries the recessive trait too.
I'm not making this up. Ask any doctor or scientist.

Feb 4th 2008 10:56AM Kay; The only way you also inherited your dad's blue eyes is that your mother also carries the blue eyed (or recessive) gene too...otherwise you too would have brown eyes. Your dad only contributed half of your genetic material, and because the gene for eye color has to come from both your mom and your dad means that your mom carries the blue eyed trait because if she didn't the brown gene would overwhelm the blue eyed gene because brown always expresses. That also means you cannot carry on the brown eyed trait.

Feb 4th 2008 10:05AM Wow Doug...this really hit a nerve with you!
It's AOL for God's sake...not rocket science.
Did you honestly think it was going to narrow it down to like a name?
I knew exactly what they meant.
And brown eyes; the article IS true. Anyone who's ever taken Biology 101 has learned this.
We're all part of the same chain of genetic material so in essence we're all having sex with our cousins...only they're genetically removed by generation. Read your bible and see all the "begats".
Actually, to put a finer point on it, the human race in total has been traced down to one mother...through our mitochondria, which is genetically identical in every human person. Mitochondria cannot be altered or mutated. I am thinking this one mother's name was...Eve?

Feb 4th 2008 9:55AM If blue eyes are a genetic mutation then why have they survived? Why hasn't natural selection picked them off? Because there must be a biological advantage to having blue eyes.
Let's face it, blue eyed people survived because the pigment (or lack thereof) hasn't been biologically necessary to move the species forward.
Brown eyed people originally were found close to the equator, and their skin and eyed had more pigment as a defense against UV light. It was a necessity to deposit more melinin under the skin so the sun's rays couldn't damage them. In colder climes that extra melinin wasn't necessary.
It's a no-brainer.
We're all the result of our ancestry and that is merely an evolution of necessary genetic mutations to ensure the human race survives.
Families aren't really getting "convenience" out of convenience foods {Slashfood}
Sep 4th 2007 2:32PM Your comments: I raised five kids and worked full-time. I made everything from
scratch. I couldn't afford conveinence foods. With planning it's
relatively easy and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. All you need
are good organizational skills.
Surveillance Devices to Eventually Record Entire Lives {Switched.com}
Sep 4th 2007 12:39PM I worked at a hospital for 20 years. I am a nurse. I quit the day "they" made us all start wearing GPS monitors on our nametags, ostensibly to allow the unit secretary to be able to find us when she needed to. It also monitored how long we were in the break room, how long we took for lunch and even how long we spent in the bathroom. I was outraged at the apathy of my co workers who maintained the notion that if you weren't doing anything wrong it wouldn't matter. The notion that we had become "indentured servants" to the company was not something that my fellow employees could recognize. I left the company in 2000, completely baffled that seemingly educated people couldn't grasp the concept that a company could invade our privacy and baffled that it was ok with them.
It will only get worse.
I am afraid for the future of this supposedly "free" society.
Man Fired After GPS Showed He Was Not at Work {Switched.com}
Sep 4th 2007 12:20PM Big brother is watching you.
It should be against the law for this to happen in ANY company. We are employees, not indentured servants and this is 2007 not 1707.
What gives anyone the right to monitor people especially when they haven't been informed that the company would be watching its employees through surveillence equipment?
This is another indication that our freedom is being eroded bit by bit. When will it stop?
