Circuit City giving away free cars {BloggingStocks}

Nov 9th 2007 12:05AM I'll take a free car or other prize, but I won't buy anything from Curcuit City or Best Buy...

I was looking for a camera item that they both had for $299.00, and I found the same brand new item on e-bay for $177.00. Even with shipping it is still more than $100.00 less.

As for computers, try a local small computer business owner who knows computers well and you will always get good service and computers that are upgradable. I do that and have never had a major problem since...

Home Depot employees fired for catching shoplifters {BloggingStocks}

Jun 11th 2007 1:22AM I am a former employee of a Home Depot in Maryland and I wanted to share my experience there...

When I worked for Home Depot I had a manager who would constantly show me the weekly totals from theft loss telling me to be more alert, but at the same time telling me not to intervene, reminding me that I was " not a cop "...

I eventally quit because I did not think that Home Depot made any sence to work for, and it was the best decision of my work life. I went on to work at another job and not only made more money elsewhere, but I was happy that I no longer had to worry about covering a warehouse size store with no security, and worry about what was happening 5 iles down.

What Home Depot needs to do is re-state an amended policy that insures that employees will not be held responsible in any way for store theft ( by shoplifters ) and no longer be encouraged to watch for theft or report it. They should also ensure that employee pay or raises are not affected...

The employees should have nothing to do with loss prevention at all, even if they see theft. Even if you say " have a Nice Day " to someone they still might complain they were being profiled and try and sue.

The only way to really prevent law suits is to go to mail order business, get rid of the stores. Everything else is going to the internet anyway...

If you are currently work at Home Depot, don't say a word when you see somthing being stolen, let the corporate people take the loss, and if you want my advice, QUIT NOW. Your life will end up better, like mine did. Home Depot is like working for Nazi's. You won't have much benefit in the end.
