Dec 16th 2009 1:42AM I thought Rita was boring and whiny with her Kumbaya-Pollyanna approach to life and she didn't seem to be a great Mom either. It's boring watching her do all the touchy-feely counseling crapola. Deb wasn't that interesting either but she's the only person Dexter loves--and they got married in real life earlier this year--and he's the producer of the show so it's Rita who gets iced instead of foul-mouthed Deb. LaGuerta doesn't do much for the show either although I like Angel. Quinn is also expendable but the Asian guy is so obnoxiously funny that he's lovable as a flawed male.

Nov 8th 2009 4:59PM I worked my way through college working midnight shift at a Waffle House and made 1.18 per hour (the company billed us 40 cents an hour for "free food" whether we ate there or not) and I graduated college with no debt and a nice chunk of money tucked away because I worked hard and gave the best I was capable of every time. I will tip 30-40% for outstanding service but I also expect the service I get to be at least competent. I don't punish my server for kitchen mistakes (I know the difference between server and kitchen screwups) and I DO expect a reasonable amount of service for my tip. I tip 15-20 percent for adequate service with a nice attitude and I can tell when a server is trying to do their best during a night from hell and I NEVER cut a tip when someone is busting their ass in the weeds in a packed restaurant and I have to wait a bit for iced tea refills or more bread. HOWEVER. If you are in a slow restaurant and you can't smile and be nice and your service level is terrible and I see that my food is screwed up because you DIDN'T write "swiss cheese" on the kitchen check (I have asked to see them) and you weren't slammed and you take an attitude with me when I point out glaring errors on the bill and I don't get what I ordered and you don't try to make it right, then I WILL exercise my right to economic revenge--which I have done exactly TWICE in my life (and I'm 51 and dine out virtually every day) and believe me they had it coming.
