How long does that take though? Some manufacturers (samsung) don't even bother keeping their phones upgraded altogether. Froyo was released almost 3 months ago.

Why is it such a problem for manufacturers to keep their Android handsets up to date? If they can't keep up with the current release, why do they put on their pointless little skins?
