May 27th 2011 2:24PM This protest is truly idiotic. They don't understand the tax law nor economics and that is a growing problem with people. /shaking head/

This idea of a tax holiday makes more sense than "uncut" seems to understand, yes the Treasury would miss out on tax revenue, but it would bring that >$500B ($80B is just the tax) back into our economy where it could work...Frankly the treasury isn't collecting the money now, and under a tax holiday wouldn't collect, and the economy would benefit from having "more US dollars at home". But again, they don't understand that.

Mixing my commentary about left wing politics and Apple may have been confusing. There should have been a line break there.

I totally agree with you about them being a company (a corporation is just a legal structure -people seem to forget that) to make money, and yes they do it very well. That makes me happy as a shareholder of AAPL! Since 2000 when I started buying AAPL (~$11 share) , I have done very well. I wish my other tech stocks had done this well.

May 19th 2011 6:42PM @Dan, I agree, but disagree -that's the funny thing about left-wing ideology. It's a bit hypocritical. Apple will not support a union, it doesn't jive with their secrecy and demand of control.

Define obscene.... Who's to say their profits are obscene? Are you a stock holder in AAPL? If you are, you can't possibly feel the profits are obscene. As well, I think your salary is an obscene profit and I think we should share your "obscene profits". Do you expect to make money in your 401K or saving account? Where do you think those dividends come from, profits?

Food for thought, what percentage [of profit] exactly is obscene? Think about it and look at any given company's earning reports and 10K and see what it takes to actually run a business -and actually make money.

May 19th 2011 4:48PM Um, yeah. This wont happen. I agree with Techman, they don't seem to understand who they are dealing with. As a former employee I can tell you that these must be some of the newer breed of employees they are hiring that think the world is owed to them and that it's not fair they get paid only $12hr, which they conveniently forget is much higher their friends working at the Gap. They think they deserve $30 because in some what they are special...blah. I went through similar stuff with schedules, breaks and pay, and guess who isn't an employee any longer? I moved on.

If retail management gets wind of this and who the individuals are, it won't take long for this to fizzle.

To the ARWU folks, before yo get to far out on the limb, take a few moments to realize that Apple has the formula for the best retail work environment i've ever seen -union or not. If you do not like it, go work somewhere else. It's your choice. You know what, go ask your AT&T retail friends down the way in the mall how they like their union. You might just change your tune.
There are 15 other people waiting in line for you to get fired or quit so they can work there....

May 18th 2011 9:47AM I made three transactions a while back and it has been the best working solution for me. I sold both my 2009 MBP 15" and my iPad (1) and purchased the 13" MBA best model. I do a lot of documents and presentations and while iPad was neat it was difficult to build a good preso or edit a document properly. My MBP was getting heavy...The resolution of the new MBA sold me big time. Awesome machine, small and light enough to not be a burden and powerful enough to get what I need done. Best decision in a while!

Nov 21st 2009 8:37AM Ok, tell me how this competes with an EX1/EX3...? Except on price? AVCHD is not impressive. I have yet to get good footage from an AVC-Cam that wasn't shot mid-day in sunlight. You shoot in low light situations and AVC shows its real colors, or better, noise.

Maybe Sony can do what Canon and Panny haven't been able to do, make AVCHD an acceptable format for a wide range of shooting conditions.. We'll see.
