Ontario to ban smoking in cars {ParentDish}
May 3rd 2008 4:28PM This kind of law is just common sense. To smoke in a car with a child inside is plainly and simply ignorant and selfish. By 2008 any adult should know better than to do so.
Naomi Brings a Fag to Dinner {TMZ}
May 2nd 2008 8:03PM I really hate the double standard that I keep seeing with celebrities smoking wherever they please, and nobody saying anything about it. It wasn't too long ago that Jack Nicholson was seen walking through a smoke free airport with a lit cigarette or cigar hanging out of his mouth. I'd love to see someone tell one of these spoiled celebs to put it out for a change!
Cigarette Smoke Causes Nintendo Wii to Malfunction {Switched.com}
Mar 13th 2008 10:18PM Whether smokers want to believe it or not, tobacco smoke does foul electronics. They may not notice that it's coating their walls and ceilings and staining their teeth and fingers, but it is dirty.
Secondhand smoke: Whose rights are more important? {That's Fit}
Feb 9th 2008 4:51PM It's very unfortunate that in 2008, there are still workplaces that are hazardous to worker's health, despite the fact that rectifying the problem is very easy, and very cheap. Banning smoking in restaurants has never been shown to do any harm to business. In fact, restaurants generally increase business when smoking is no longer allowed inside. If restaurant owners are not going to do the right thing for the health of their employees and customers, then governments really should step in and legislate. Polls show that people support smoking bans by a fairly large margin. The public should be pressuring politicians who have yet to act to do something about indoor workplace smoking.

Is it right to raise the tax on cigarettes? You bet! {BloggingStocks}
Oct 1st 2007 5:07PM The only ones who really lose in this are the tobacco companies, and who cares about them. They still market to kids, whether they'll admit to it or not. They're now using Youtube and other internet videos to try to promote and glamorize smoking. And of course they spend huge sums of money and will do anything they can to try to derail any kind of tax on cigarettes. Kids who are not insured will win with the extra tax dollars covering their insurance needs. Smokers will be encouraged to quit by the increased cost, so whether some of them realize it or not, it's a positive there too. Reducing the amount smoked will decrease health care costs by a large amount, and that's another plus for all taxpayers.
The Electric, Smokeless Cigarette {Switched.com}
Sep 19th 2007 4:46PM Is this in any way safer for the smoker? Has it been proven that what it emits is totally safe for non-smokers and should be allowed in areas where smoking is prohibited?
Detroit Auto Show Wrapup - Honda Fit Sport HFP {Autoblog}
Feb 8th 2006 9:01PM Yes, I do wish that a diesel was being offered as an option on the Fit. This new Honda has been the best selling car in Japan for a few years now and has more features for the same money as the Toyota Yaris.
