The Oscarologist: Will 'The Blind Side' Blind Side Academy Voters? (Moviefone Blog)
Dec 10th 2009 9:25PM I can see why "The Blind Side" might not be Best Picture -- but I don't see why Sandra Bullock shouldn't get a Best Actress nod. She is outstanding, perhaps our finest comedic actress. Unfortunately for her, she makes her roles look too easy. It's about time she got recognition for the great work she does.
Using Cell Phone While Driving Akin to Driving Drunk, Say Researchers (Switched)
Mar 17th 2008 9:07PM No one should brag about engaging in a bad habit and so far no accident. It's just a matter of odds. The ideal of course is no distractions. I don't even have a radio in my car. I don't understand why being alone with one's thoughts isn't enough on a drive in the country, which I make about three times a week. And yet on that windy country road I've almost "bought it" several times from cell phone drivers crossing the center line on curves! Too bad when such idiocy thins the herd it doesn't just "thin" them.

Jazz Doing Their Part to Solve the NBA's Literacy Problem (Fanhouse NBA Blog)
Jan 28th 2007 8:47PM At least this young man will have the last laugh. He will have a life after basketball when many of his teammates will wish they had learned to read when they had the chance.
