Second Utah Apple Store seen in job listings (TUAW.com)
Apr 7th 2011 10:06AM Personally, I'd rather see local Apple authorized retailer Simply Mac open up a store there in the Provo/Orem area. They already have a policy about closing on Sunday and that would match the demographics of the area more than an official Apple Store.
Second Utah Apple Store seen in job listings (TUAW.com)
Apr 7th 2011 10:04AM ifoAppleStore had details about this some months ago, but it's nice to see articles that it's confirmed.
I work across the street (just north) of the Fashion Place Mall and this is great news. Trips downtown to the Gateway Apple store can be time consuming, especially during working hours. Now it's a quick 5 minute walk across the street when I need something Apple related.
Great news indeed.
MobileMe rumored to get alternative payment methods (TUAW.com)
Mar 30th 2011 10:58PM PV, that's one of my major issues - I rely on a local iCal calendar, not a MobileMe hosted one that nothing but iOS 4 Apple devices will sync with. I understand moving forward and a standard like CalDAV is important, but it takes out the Sync Services and adds layers of multiple steps (and 3rd party tools) to get things to all sync up correctly.
MobileMe rumored to get alternative payment methods (TUAW.com)
Mar 30th 2011 10:55PM I echo your sentiments, DJR. I used to purchase the boxes from Amazon every year, saving $30-40 off my MobileMe annual cost. Now with the new calendar format changing (I sync with a couple of non-Apple products, as well as a 1st gen iPhone), I will lose that functionality here in the next month.
For a product that was reasonable to subscribe to, provided some great functionality and has worked for me very well, it's starting to look like I may need to decide what to do come October 2011 when my annual sub is up for renewal.
Google Voice app update supports iPad, iPod touch (TUAW.com)
Dec 14th 2010 3:49PM A step in the right direction, but still waiting for VOIP over wifi support. I have to admit that I really do like how the call from Gmail works and would like an option that doesn't use any minutes on any cell phones.
iOS 4.2.1 jailbroken, compatible Cydia store ready (TUAW.com)
Nov 19th 2010 3:06PM And since I am one that needs an unlock, I must continue to wait for a better solution. The fear of upgrading the baseband on my 3GS keeps me from trying more risky options for keeping my unlock.
Hulu Plus launches at $7.99, refunds early adopters (TUAW.com)
Nov 19th 2010 2:59PM I've been doing the $9.99/mo for Hulu Plus since July and I do watch more show than I did before. We only have basic cable (2-13 and a few more channels) and the expanded availability of show I can watch online (via web or PS3 and iPad) with Hulu Plus has been nice.
Of course, it would be nice to watch all Hulu shows on my PS3 and iPad, but I'm sure the expansion will happen soon enough. Also would like TBS, TNT and AMC shows like Conan and Mad Men, but again, waiting for licensing deals on those may take a while.
As for those that are looking for a better deal, BillG mentioned it above with the cable being a paid service, yet it's littered with ads. Hulu's ads are short and few, which is nothing compared to what I see on the cable channels of 4 mins of ads during show segments.
It seems the complaints here are to get the price to as cheap as it can get... even free even. Maybe the freedom of the web has spoiled us to wanting it all for gratis. I'm ok with paying and now it's $2 a month less. I'm keeping it and being patient for more shows and on more devices.
Outlook 2011 review: Beyond Entourage, not quite Outlook for Windows (TUAW.com)
Nov 16th 2010 1:38PM I was disappointed in the lack of Exchange 2003 support (I'm the email admin here at my work - we are in the planning stages of a EX 2007 upgrade next year). Entourage Exchange support wasn't bad, but I was looking forward to using Outlook 2011 for a more unified support with Windows.
Of note, the Outlook 2010 windows client does support Exchange 2003.

MacX Video Converter Pro available free until November 15 (TUAW.com)
Nov 8th 2010 5:37PM Since I'm working on a FCP project where I need to convert an MPEG2 YUY2 file (from Nero) for editing, I will try this converter.
I also appreciate the links to other converters that others have posted here as well. So far, I've tried several (including the horrific Wondershare) and nothing has given me decent results without some serious degrading of the converted result.
I did a Handbrake conversion to MP4, but the end result wasn't the best quality and it wasn't recognized by FCP.
