Who Needs a Prepaid Phone? (Switched)

Oct 29th 2009 10:39AM Well everyone, I hate to burst your bubbles but I wouldn't have a prepaid phone if you gave me one!! My two sons have one and it's great for them because they don't talk much on the phone. However, I have a phone with Metro PCS and although the service sucks, it has good coverage and for $45.00 per month, I can talk as long as I want or need to. If my husband is out of town as he is now, we can talk for 3 hours if we want to and not worry about how long we've been on the phone or how many minutes we've used. I make a lot of business calls during the day, and with the prepaid phone, you're just in a mess, if you're on hold for a long time like I have been frequently, or the person you're talking to takes a while to straighten out a problem with your insurance policy or whatever you're calling about. I guess it boils down to this, if you don't spend much time on the phone, you're good to go with a prepaid plan. However, if you're on the phone a lot like I am, go with Metro PCS. There is no contract, no credit check and no deposit. You just buy the phone you want and the plan you want, and they run from $30 to $50 per month, depending on what kind of features you need. No matter which plan you choose, you will always get unlimited talk time. With the $45 plan, I get unlimited talk, nation wide calling, unlimited texting and a whole lot of other features that I can't think of right now off of the top of my head. But seriously, if you talk on the phone a lot or make a lot of business calls, check into Metro PCS, they are working out their problems and I think in time, they will be a top rated phone company. Right now, I'll put up with the bad customer service to get the features they offer. Also, for $5 extra a month, you can also get unlimited international calling too, all in all, I think it's a pretty good deal!! Check it out!

Rihanna's New Blonde Highlights (Stylelist)

Sep 24th 2009 9:38AM I personally love Rihanna, she has a fabulous voice and has done extremely well for a young woman her age, especially when she first started out in this business with umbrella. As far as her hair, I think it looks gross and way over done. Even as much as I can't stand her hair, her lipstick is sickening. It's way too dark and not at all flattering. Rihanna is a very attractive woman and this new look cheapens her, which is too bad. I know she has the right to do what she wants, I just wish she would have toned it down a bit.

Mom|Style: The tee (ParentDish)

Oct 3rd 2008 10:14AM I love the ideas you have about how Moms can dress for every day with the kids, running errands, etc. However, when on earth are these designers going to realize that those of us who are plus size gals don't look so well in stripes going horizontal? I've even seen plus size designers making tops with horizontal stripes, when are they going to get it? I don't know how they've made it in the business when they can't figure out the plus size gals needs VERTICAL STRIPES!! Especially when they sit and go on and on about not wearing horizontal stripes, Gosh guys, get a grip and use your own advice!!

Some Vista SP1 early adopters reporting problems, how about you? (Engadget)

Mar 24th 2008 9:38AM I just bought a laptop with Vista already downloaded on it and I HATE IT!! They make it sound so easy but I can't find half of anything that I have, I don't know how to open a new folder in my documents, can't find my buddy list, etc., etc. I don't know when I have felt so helpless. I follow the directions and it still does not work. I thought the new things were supposed to make things better and easier, not worse and harder. Can anyone help me with who to get in touch with for help? I even tried to download AOL 9.0 and it wouldn't download all the way through. HELP!!

Big in Japan: Drinking pig placenta keeps Japanese women beautiful (Gadling)

Nov 10th 2007 10:45AM There's no way in the world that I would eat this, drink this or do anything else with this. YUCK!! Anyway, as far as dogs, they do this as well. I'm not really sure if it is for the same purpose as most dogs give birth inside now, but I'm sure that some farm and/or working dogs would do this outside whenever the birth would occur. I guess it's just natures way of taking care of things. I have never seen a cat do this but that doesn't mean that they don't, I've just never seen it. Sometimes I wonder if the animals do this to keep the babies from getting into it. If anybody out there knows, let the rest of us know. It is really gross for humans, but for the animals, I'm sure it's a wonderful act of nature, for the mother animals to replenish the blood that's lost in child birth as well as all of the nutrients lost. By reingesting the placenta, it would give those nutrients back to the mother who would need the stamina to take care of the little ones, especially with the dogs who sometimes with the larger dogs, can have any where from 6 to 13 puppies according to the size of the dog. Well, that's my take on things, what about anyone else? Does anyone else have any information on this practice?

Ex-Teammate on Vick: 'He's Not That Smart' (Fanhouse NFL Blog)

Aug 24th 2007 9:38AM I am SOOOO SICK of so many people, mainly men I suppose, sticking up for Mike Vick. It's disgusting. Yes white people kill animals, we kill each other, so do blacks and Iranians, the whole middle east, that doesn't make it right! I'm tired of people coming up with poor Mike, he didn't have anything growing up, he didn't have any guidance, well, a lot of people didn't, that's NO EXCUSE. I heard yesterday that Vick has children, OMG, I wouldn't want him any where near my children! What is he teaching his children? This is, I think another O.J. football case. Too much money too fast, the Falcons letting him do anything he wanted to do with no consequences. These young men need someone to guide them when they have come from a background like Vick and then out of nowhere they get handed millions of dollars, they get so money hungry that they will stop at nothing to get more. I am a single Mother of 2 boys and I love football, but just like O.J., some of the men that are playing are just too violent and with that comes spousal abuse, child abuse and animal abuse. I don't care who you are, what color you are or where you came from, there is NO EXCUSE for this behavior! Mike lied about this at first and then he decided he better fess up. I'm absolutely disguested with Arthur Blank and the NFL for putting up with this. They were talking yesterday about what a good athlete he is and he's in such good shape, etc., so what? Are the rest of us supposed to turn our heads and pretend this didn't happen? I don't think so! I've heard some people say "Oh, it's only an animal/dog" well let me tell you Vick supporters, those animals/dogs have feelings, they yelp if you step on their little paws, I almost get sick to my stomach if I accidentally step on my dogs' paw, because I know how much that hurts him, I can't imagine what Vick did without even a second thought. He is a mean, vicious, and heartless person who should be put in jail for a very long time and I don't think he should ever be allowed to play professional sports again! We need to let our voices be heard loud and clear in Atlanta and the Commissioner's Office that we will not tolerate this behavior let alone pay our hard earned money to watch him play. It's too bad that the rest of us don't make that kind of money, I'm sure we could do a lot of good with money like that, too bad he can't see past the lining of his pockets to help under priviledged kids and the elderly that need help. I do not feel bad for Mike Vick, he made his own decision to do this and now he needs to pay big time!!

Going 'Green' With Your Beauty Routine (oldstylelist)

May 24th 2007 10:28AM I love the Bare Minerals from Bare Escentuals. It's suprisingly moisturing, has a natural SPF 15 and has made skin better, softer and more natural looking than any regular makeup I have ever used. It's also great for dark skin ladies, they have a wonderful choice of dark colors, blushes and lip sticks included. When you are shopping for your mineral makeup, make sure it doesn't have any bismuth oxichloride in it, that's one thing that always irritates the skin. I always read the descriptions and make sure that what I'm buying is free of that ingredient. The one thing with mineral makeup is that less is more, You don't have to ever worry about an expiration date because it's all natural from the earth and also, since you don't have to use so much to get the effect you desire, your minerals will last a very long time. I shop on eBay which is a big seller of Bare Minerals and it is so much more reaonsably priced that regular makeup, I couldn't get over the difference! Please ladies, give it a try before you knock it.

Going 'Green' With Your Beauty Routine (oldstylelist)

May 24th 2007 10:13AM I have been using Bare Escentuals, and various spinoffs from eBay, and absolutely love it. I am 58 and my skin has been through the ringer. I'm a sun bather, swimmer, etc. so I have a lot of sun spots. I have used Merle Norman for a long time, as well as other regular makeup and it always felt so heavy on my face and as soon as I got hot, which down here in Florida is not hard to do, off came my makeup. Well, now that I've switched to the mineral makeup, my makeup stays where I put it and I have NEVER had to touch up my face during the day! My face has never looked better or softer, and I feel my face and feel the differenc. Also, it is so natural and you don't look made up unless you put too much on which a lot of people do until they get the hang of how to put it on. Anyway, the mineral makeup, no matter which line you use has many different shades for dark complexioned ladies that I cam't imagine wouldn't work for any ladie with dark skin. Hope this helps, sorry I rambled on so.

Paris Hilton's Quickie, But Not What You Think (This Just In)

May 12th 2007 10:32AM I for one, am glad this spoiled slut is going to jail. And for another thing, this is not her first offense. She was been in various different traffic situations and even went to jail and her sister had to come get her out. She need to realize that her Daddy can't buy her way out of everything. Also this bull shit about not knowing her license was suspended and her manager never told her is a bunch of crap. She needs to grow up and pay attention to what's going on in her "real life" and not depend on others to take care of business, if that's really the case, which I doubt. I can't stand the site of this celebutant that does nothing for society than strut around and party, wow what a wonderful role model! I think there was a pole not too long ago about who was the most over rated celeberty and Paris was #1. Also, how does she get by with having 500 pets which she doesn't even take care of? And most of them are illegal. Another way her daddy's money is being spent. Gee, it's too bad she doesn't do something worthwhile in this world for the under priviledged.

What's Your Personal Style? (oldstylelist)

Apr 23rd 2007 2:16PM I really enjoyed reading your comments and seeing the pictures that goes with them. I found them quite interesting but as I was looking down the page, every single model was rail thin, I'm not. I carry my weight well, I'm 5'8" tall and a little under 200 lbs. I use to be 110 to 115 lbs my whole life. Then I had 2 absusive marriages, 3 stomach surgiers, 2 c-sections and a nervous breakdowns. I try so hard so slim down but it just doesn't seem to be happening. My biggest problem is shopping for clothes like I'm still 110lbs. For some reason, I just can't get away from that. You talk about how the models are dying, too thin, etc, but then you continually show extremely thin models. I think you need to re-think your strategy. Thanks for "listening".
