Sam's Club offers $1-a-week membership (WalletPop)

Oct 17th 2008 12:44PM I have a Sam's membership because my husband works at Sam's. Granted Sam's and Walmart are owned by the same company BUT they do have different prices and sam's does win out at being cheaper for some items like milk for example, eggs. but people tend to forget that Sam's is a warehouse which means bulk buying! If you don't know how too manage bulk shopping then it's a good bet you might be better off at a regular store. More than once i just run in there for milk, when i can get a gallon at 2.19 compared to wal marts 2.98, you better believe that i will walk over to Sam's to get it cheaper. Wal mart doesn't always have the lowest prices! if anyone is wondering yes even employees have to pay a membership fee! we just like the convienance of having it taken out of a payroll check!

Jan 19th 2007 6:06PM It's true that the girls don't sell door to door anymore,and i can't blame the parents for not letting them. I myself wouldn't let my daughter, you never know who is going to answer the door. I have let my daughter sell only to the neighbors we know, and half the time they have already put their order. I wish all troops could sell at the same time. The carmel delights and thin mints and peanutbutter patties are the best. I also agree that the cookies are getting smaller! And more expensive. I have noticed we buy less each year, but we know that it goes for helping the girls. Oh one hint: don't ever mix lemon cookies with others in same container! Hubby did that, and all cookies tasted like lemon!
