Renaming Your Rescue Dog (Pawnation OLD)

Sep 4th 2011 11:35AM Absolutely true. My dog's name is Kirby (after the late-great comic book artist) and we have a habit in the family of doing all these weird rhyming things with names. He comes to Kirby, Birby, and Wirby. He also thinks his name is Good Dog. It's the same with our cat Puffin, he comes equally to the word Muffin.

Students Fed Cold Sandwiches to Punish Them for Hot Lunch Disses (ParentDish)

May 17th 2011 3:07PM I'd MUCH rather eat a cold sandwich than the greasy, fatty, slimy, high-calorie monstrosities the districts order the cooks to make for kids.

Are You Guilty of Housesnarking? (Shelterpop)

May 12th 2011 8:09AM There is no such thing as brutal honesty. People use it as an excuse to be rude under the thin veil of concern.

9 Sexy Swimsuits With The Most Awkward Tan Line Potential (Stylelist (Main))

May 2nd 2011 8:26AM Roni: You're supposed to get 15 minutes of unprotected sun exposure per WEEK. For most of us, that's going to and from the car on our way to and from work. The only safe tan is the kind that comes from a bottle. Want vitamin D? Go drink a glass of milk.

How I Learned to Love My Curls: From Poofy to Stick-Straight to Happy at Last (Stylelist (Main))

Apr 30th 2011 12:28PM This is something I think all of us with curly hair suffer with. I had a lot of trouble as a kid with curly hair. I did all the straightening and things too. Curly hair is like anything else that makes us different: people might not make fun of you because of it, but if they want to make you feel bad it's the first thing they go for. Heaven forbid if it's curly AND red. Finding the right product helps. I've found mine and everyone loves my curly hair now, even me.

SmackDown: Would You Make Your Kid Drink Hot Sauce as Punishment? (ParentDish)

Feb 1st 2011 9:49PM Um, hotsauce CAN kill you in large doses. The capsasin in the chilis can cause your throat to swell up and effectively suffocate you. Not to mention many people are allergic to capsasin. Luckily this child was not. Punishing your child with pain not only teaches them that violence is the answer, but that consequences are temporary.

Walmart Launching GeoGirl Makeup Line for Tweens (ParentDish)

Jan 31st 2011 8:36AM There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. They're marketed for mothers of girls who are starting to hit puberty and are curious about makeup. Don't want your daughter to be curious? Either don't wear makeup yourself or, better yet, LET HER GROW UP.

In the Pink: Pantone Names Color of the Year (MyDaily)

Jan 12th 2011 8:42AM I haven't liked pink since I was 12, at least not this shade. I personally find this color obnoxious on anything other than maybe your fingernails. It's certainly too bright for anything on your face, the intensity will suck all the light out of any room you decorate with it, and anything made of it looks like it was made by Mattel for 6 year olds. If you want to do pink, more power to you, but I certainly recommend a different shade than this.
