For Wilfred Benitez, Boxing's Brutal Toll Never Ends (Fanhouse Boxing Blog)

Oct 14th 2010 1:24AM It's sad to see fighters wind up broke and disabled. Promoters in the boxing business should set aside a small percentage to take care of fighters that made the sport great. Jerry Quary died in a similar state from too many blows to the brain. Just 1% of all fight proceeds could set up a boxer's foundation for the treatment and care of former Boxers. Benitez and other fighters would surely benefit from it.

Retiree re-invents himself as professional blackjack gambler (WalletPop)

Aug 16th 2010 5:21PM Basic strategy with a sound betting technique can win at blackjack. Set your limits for winning and losing. I start with $500. If I win $500, I'm done. If I lose $500, I'm done. Don't gamble if you can't afford to lose. Nervous money can't win. Don't tip until you are ready to leave the table a winner. If I lose I never tip. Free drinks and comps are a bonus. Blackjack has the best odds for players than any other game. Since you are winning house money, most of the other players are friendly. Good luck!

BK Whopper Bar Misses the Boat, but Not the Bloat (Slashfood)

Aug 4th 2010 3:40PM Burger King needs to replace their executives in charge of R&D and marketing. If you give people a good product at a good price, they'll reward you with repeat business. Gimmicks and fads don't last. First and foremost in the fast food business is taste. If it doesn't taste good, I don't care what it cost or how many calories it has. Value is secondary. In this economy, people are watching their spending. Offering alcoholic beverages is fine, but other problems come with that. Drunks, fights, people getting sick or liability for serving minors just to name a few. I don't think this was thought out very well.

A Pediatrician's View on Michelle Obama's 'Let's Move' Program (AOL Health)

Jul 13th 2010 2:55AM The US is in a deep and prolonged recession. More than 35 MILLION Americans struggle with hunger daily. Schools are providing free breakfast and lunches in record numbers, impacting their budget so much, they are giving out cheese sandwiches in lieu of NOTHING! American kids are lucky to have something to eat, period! It is much more expensive to eat healthy. How about getting jobs for the parents so they can afford better food? Why not eliminate foreign aid in the BILLIONS given to countries that hate us and take care of Americans! Stop worrying about the kids getting fat and be thankful they have something to eat! Stop importing foreign workers, that drive down wages and take American jobs! The wealthy elite are out of touch with reality. They have this "let them eat cake" attitude. How ironic!!

Dan Gilbert Blasts LeBron James' 'Cowardly Betrayal' in Letter to Fans (Fanhouse NBA Blog)

Jul 9th 2010 1:08PM There is no loyalty to the fans anymore. It's all about the money. The fans are crushed. The city of Cleveland is devastated. LeBron is off to party in South Beach. Hey, on the bright side, the oil slick is approaching Miami! Take a nice long swim in the oil LeBron! It'll be good for you!

Conference Shakeup: Where Things Stand (For Now Anyway) (Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog)

Jun 11th 2010 9:36PM These conferences were supposed to represent regional schools. The Pac-10 was the west coast. How does Texas and Colorado represent the west coast? This is insane!

Cost of USC Scandal: Lose Title, Heisman (Fanhouse - Jay Mariotti)

Jun 11th 2010 2:51AM This article is a load of crap. Sounds like sour grapes from a bunch of morons that have gotten their butts kicked by the men of Troy. The people who were involved in these violations are no longer at SC. They are punishing people who are completely innocent of any wrongdoings, nice going NCAA. Stay proud fellow Trojans and hold your heads high! FIGHT ON!

Dolly Parton's Criticism of Tenn. Senator Was 'Fabrication' (The Boot)

Mar 23rd 2010 3:29PM Every military base has a federal bank on it that makes loans to military personnel. There is no need for military people to do business with these rip off businesses.

Design Concepts: The Modern Wheelchair (Switched)

Mar 20th 2010 6:09PM The best powerchair I have ever seen was the iBot produced by Johnson & Johnson. It had redundant gyro systems against failure. It would elevate you up to 6 feet high. It climbed stairs, it balanced on two wheels and it cost $25,000! Because of the high price tag it was discontinued. All the people who could have benefitted from such a wonderful chair will never have the pleasure of owning it. I am ashamed of our government not taking better care of the disabled in the USA. We give money away to foreign nations by the billions annually but disabled Americans get next to nothing. SHAME!

Conan O'Brien Says He Won't Budge for Jay Leno (PopEater)

Jan 12th 2010 10:35PM People are creatures of habit. Most Americans watch the same programs they always have. It was Jay Leno's decision not to accept a contract extension for the Tonight Show. It was the Jay Leno Show that was an experiment in a primetime slot that failed. This isn't how you run a successful network. No wonder NBC is 4th out of the 4 networks. Conan has a contract and The Tonight Show with Conan will succeed if given time. The only difference between Jay and Conan is the monologue and half the time I miss that anyway. Most viewers would have preferred to keep Carson over Leno when that mess went down. Suck it up and take it like a man Jay! You passed on the Tonight Show! Bye bye!
