Jul 10th 2011 7:11PM They get your attention with something provocative then there's nothing but bland reporting I can live without, please, don't bother me next time. Let's see more women without shirts, that's a fashion STATEMENT if you ask me! Men notice things like that! haha

Jon's Pals: 'Kate Will Never Take Responsibility' (PopEater)

Dec 2nd 2010 12:55PM I watched the clip from my Xbox, oddly, but I've never had cable during the show's run, but followed some of the aftermath He Said She Said. I think women have strong egos, no matter what, they think of most men as "dogs", so I think equal time for Jon, perhaps, but if you cheat on your woman...with kids in the family, you are a Dog, hard to recover from that mistake

Format Wars: A History of What-Could-Have-Been, From Betamax to Dvorak (Switched)

Sep 29th 2010 4:47PM That's probably PARTLY true, but it is rather silly to state that and believe it, the REAL reason the Industry is hurting is because of FREE INTERNET PRON.
Yep, They give vid and photos for free all across the WWW! Though sites are charging for HD content, and supposed better perks, all Porn industries have to focus on the ONLINE model to reach their users,

Sep 29th 2010 4:41PM @(Unverified) I don't even recall that, what I do know is WB was the LONE crusader for DVD, championing a pioneering effort, at that point, 1997, there were only a few places NATION wide to get DVD, because the Digital Video Disc and the Digital Versatile Disc were the same thing, there was a great wave of acceptance, but the meaning behind those two format terms just means the same as CD versus CD ROM, one is intended as a PC format using the optical storage media for date, MM (MultiMedia) and Audio/Video in the normal sense. Now companies are still looking for something beyond the mere storage of music and words, pictures, but adding an interactive element to DVD or Hi Def carriers. The movie studios held out for COPY PROTECTION, unlike LaserDisc, there was never a felt need or urgency to Copy Protect DVD's big brother! Think about that fact.

Sep 29th 2010 4:19PM I have to disagree about modern movies, I plan to see Shutter Island, I don't think it will be the best film of Scorsese's career of course, but he's a revered film-maker and fan of film in general. I started with Beta, Me and mainly my dad who compared the two and picked the quality format, still STEREO sound wasn't available until 1984, then in 1987, MTS became a standard STEREO TV broadcast and found in the machines and TV sets, not to mention the broadcasts around the Country, AM Stereo exists, competing with FM Stereo of course, it's neat that it actually works. You should get yourself a Sony HF1000 or GCS-50 for your Beta needs, even the HF750 or 900 are really nice decks. I used an HF870D that I sold the past year, along with a HF750 I owned, that has the linear skate loading tray, very interesting player/recorder

Sep 28th 2010 11:18PM @Carney Well, I have heard two key arguments as to the failure of Beta vs. VHS, one is easily TAPE LENGTH for the case of Time Shifting versus just pre-recorded media. The other involves Sony's confined licensing on the technology that kept companies from embracing it. JVC's tech-head who carried on VHS development worked on the project's genesis under Sony employ! Then he left to do VHS with JVC, credited for pioneering it's standard. Pioneer adopted LaserDisc but MCA, Magnovox, and Sony/Philips helped break the ground to large optical disc media. Then Philips got credit for shrinking that to 5 inch CD. I still use Beta tape, thanks to eBay, My player is a Sony GCS-50!

Sep 28th 2010 11:04PM @(Unverified) The MiniDisc digital recording and RERECORD feature uses ATRAC, and ATRAC was pitted against MP3 and shown to be slightly less, if not the same, and 20 bit CD masters also were put out, along with Mobile Fidelity's GOLD master recording CDs, of which I own Pink Floyd's MEDDLE. I own a Pioneer DVD player that handles SACD and DVD Audio, I bought into DVD Audio when the players cost $500 usd! I want more MD option software, which is non existent, I also want to buy DVD Audio and SACD but new releases are nearly dead, there's no reason for this to be the case AT ALL!!

Sep 28th 2010 11:00PM MiniDisc, DVD Audio, SACD and Betamax I use and support, before 5 inch optical, there was LaserDisc for about 15 or more years, actually introduced in working samples in 1972/3!!!

What Life Is Like for Lindsay Lohan Behind Bars (PopEater)

Jul 21st 2010 2:58PM I was in jail for about 9 hours or something, there were CONCRETE shelves for beds or resting on, no item that you could use to cause harm to yourself, obviously, and very harsh environment
