TriForce Won't Let the Police Stand Between Him and a New 3DS (Switched)
Mar 25th 2011 4:11PM I'm not going to ask whether or not he has anything better to do (work, school, family) - because he's shown he doesn't - but I will commend him for going after something he really-really wants. The really sad part is that he's lining up there with the hopes of getting free swag for being the first in line which will probably cost around $20-$30 dollars just to buy normally. That's if there's any swag to be had anyway. What a misguided sense of priorities.

Nintendo 3DS: Not a Gaming Revolution, Still Makes Hands Happy (Switched)
Mar 25th 2011 4:05PM I'll wait till there are some decent games I want before making a purchase. When I bought my DS Phat it was because it came bundled with Mario Kart DS, one of the best racers ever made. Looking at the game list now, there's nothing I'd purchase. I've already got Super Street Fighter 4 on my PS3. Now if only Star Fox 3DS was a launch title...

Plug it all in with the 5-in-1 Connection Kit for iPad (TUAW.com)
Mar 25th 2011 3:58PM It's great, but these connections should have already been implemented into the design of the iPad 2. Yes, I know Apple is in business to gouge people for every last dollar, but these connectivity options are standard on all other tablets in the market. Is this what Apple meant when they said they were changing things again?
I'm sure the iPad 3 next year will feature HDMI output but no NFC. Then the iPad 4 will come along with a SD card reader and NFC. Hooray! -pass-
Not an Apple troll or fanboy. Just disappointed that Apple didn't include these connectivity options. A USB reader that has what 50 connections costs about 20 bucks? I'm sure they could have done the same, for less or no expense at all to the consumer.

Commonwealth Bank's Sydney swaps employee Dells for MacBook Airs (TUAW.com)
Mar 25th 2011 3:47PM So instead of having them learn a new OS, they're going to have to learn to deal with what an Apple key does? That still confuses me from time to time - as I switch between both.

4chan Looking to Take Down Rebecca Black With 'Operation Black Friday' (Switched)
Mar 18th 2011 12:29PM What is the purpose of this attack now? Am I missing something here? Or is this another, "Because we can" type of attack?
It's a bad song, sure, but who cares? The girl's 13 and people are telling her to go cut herself and die? A little harsh, don't you think? Don't like it, don't listen to it.

iPhone 5 again rumored to have NFC (TUAW.com)
Mar 18th 2011 12:15PM Still not replacing my good ol' trusty wallet. Say what you will, but NFC isn't going to take off. Not yet, anyway. What good is NFC if no major retailers/chains have it implemented?
Pricey iPad 2s showing up in online auctions (TUAW.com)
Mar 18th 2011 12:10PM I don't understand how people are willing to pay MORE for something than they have to. The demand for the iPad 2 will continue to rise but it's only a matter of time before supply catches up to demand. Why are people giving into these flippers? Sure, you don't have an iPad 2 RIGHT NOW, but if you want a week or two you'll have one and have a couple of extra hundreds. I guess when you have a lot of disposable income to use throwing a few hundreds out there isn't a big deal but that doesn't make it right.
Don't give into the flippers. Buying from them only encourages this practice.

Use a Smart Cover to stick your iPad to the fridge (TUAW.com)
Mar 18th 2011 12:02PM And the time I try it, it'll likely fall and shatter to pieces even with a gym mat right beneath it.
That fact that most of us cringed while looking at it tells us we're not insane - right? In the end, it's just an electronic device. It can be replaced. Stupid emotions.
