American Airlines to cut jobs, work remaining force harder (Gadling)

Feb 1st 2012 9:03PM The maintenance is going to Mexico, and this where all non union airlines out source their maintenance. If you think that the scheduling is bad with AA at this time, wait until they have to fly your aircraft back from Mexico first, before you can board. Also the translation of english to spanish is great in the technical manuals. The Mexican maintenance company called what is left of the maintenance supervision here in the states and asked "was that a gear-up control or a gear down control, and damn we have disconnected both leads to the gear controls. Oh well, what the hell what does it matter, because we used parts made in China and they probably don't work anyway." But, I am sure that every one of you union hater's will be over at the AA counter signing-up for more of the same from that slim and nimble American Airlines.
Also, the last time that I flew on a non-union carrier I asked the stewardess where the next stop was, and she said that it didn't matter all of these damn towns looked the same. I guess it was the slim and nimble that got me again. No pride equals no service. Have a nice day on the Double A Will.

Source: 'We're Nowhere' on NFL CBA Talks (Fanhouse NFL Blog)

Feb 28th 2011 3:43AM The one thing that the NFL Owner's absolutely can't do without is quality football player's. If they try and play with replacement player's I won't watch a single moment of it on TV, and I won't even listen to radio sports who promote the NFL. I know, I know, all of these promises have been made before by many people who didn't keep any of them. But, this time the situation is different, the US is different, many of us are scrambling to keep the apple cart from turning over in our business and home life's. Today I am very particular about where I spend my dollar for sports, and I know I would even consider watching or following a NFL replacement team. In fact if the NFL was to spend the entire year in lock-out it wouldn't bother me, and I hope that the player's stand-up as long as they can against the owner's. The only thing that exceeds the owner's hardline position on the CBA is greed, and we all see which one wins amongst the ownership group!

Hank Steinbrenner's Backtracking Shows He's Not the Boss (Fanhouse MLB Blog)

Feb 26th 2011 2:22AM Why did you bail on what you really wanted to say Terrence, and that Junior doesn't have the Gut's to back-up his stinging criticism of his player's, or other things happening in baseball. Yes, there is a commissioner, but he is more week kneed than Steinbrenner Junior. Could it be though that the Yankee's might take away your laptop, and banish you to the other New York team? Wow, that would be catastrophic, but you would have your peace of mind!

Bailing on Oprah Will Dog Michael Vick (Fanhouse - Kevin Blackistone)

Feb 19th 2011 8:53PM Is it okay for Oprah to use elements of the "Spanish Inquisition" on a guest on her show? No, quite frankly I think that her ethics is in question! You don't invite a quest, no matter what he/she has done in the past, and then unleash two separate attacks on that guest without telling them what is coming. The fact that she even invited two groups to further embarrass Michael Vick, over the Dog mistreatment convictions, is somewhat strange for Oprah. it is especially problematic that one of them was PETA, and I will tell you why! PETA is an operational terrorist group that uses the money gained from membership to finance ecological terrorism on the fringes of their organization. PETA doesn't deserve mainstream recognition because of their documented track record on EcoTerrorism. The other group of dog owner's, who were the recipients of Michael Vick's dog's, had a right to be their, if Michael Vick approved they're coming to the show with Oprah. However, Oprah didn't ask Michael Vick for permission, and secretly wanted to embarrass him. That is Slime Journalism, and it has no place any where in the media! Personally, I don't agree with Michael Vick on how he used dog's for fighting, and I am glad he paid the price for his transgression to Society, with his jail time. But, Oprah is not God, and Michael Vick deserves an apology.

Michael Vick Cancels Oprah Appearance (Fanhouse NFL Blog)

Feb 19th 2011 1:19PM If Oprah wanted Michael Vick on her show, she should have laid the ground rules out. When you have a hidden agenda and then invite someone one your show for the purpose of embarrassment, then you have to take the good with the bad. In this case Michael Vick didn't want to be used by PETA and the group of dog owner's. PETA is a terrorist organization who is using Oprah to further their claims of legitimacy. PETA should never be given a forum on national TV so they can indoctrinate American's to terrorist methodology. The dog owner's group (dogs formerly owned by Vick)should have asked Mike Vick for permission to be there and ask questions of him. The way that Oprah and her staff went about making the whole visit less than transparent is Slime Journalism. When it is Slime Journalism I don't care what good may be brought to the public, it is just wrong!

Kentucky Fans Get Revenge, Prank Call Renardo Sidney (Fanhouse NCAA Basketball Blog)

Feb 16th 2011 5:39PM How many chances does Sidney get at Mississippi State? Just about everything that can happen, thats bad, has happened to Sidney. He has been suspended by the NCAA, suspended by the head coach, refuses to play at a high level, and is not in condition to play collegiate men's basketball. Mississippi State is going to have to bite-the-bullet, and give Sidney's scholarship to someone who wants to be playing basketball at MSST. It was clear in the Kentucky game, played recently, that Sidney isn't happy, and more than that his teammates aren't happy with him. This only means one thing, and that it is time to move-on.

Roger Clemens Subpoenas Congressional Committee (Fanhouse MLB Blog)

Feb 14th 2011 2:59AM Yes, Roger Clemens lied to Federal Board of Inquiry about his usage of steroids. Yes, he can and will be prosecuted for lying to Congress. Is the whole thing blown-out of proportion? Well, yes, and Congress has better things to do than get responses from baseball player's who where using illegal drugs. Was any law enacted by Congress to change the way Major League Baseball controls illegal drugs? No, but if you are going to put someone in jail for committing a felony, then they probably should have passed a law. Sometimes when the elected bodies of Congress hold an inquiry, it is only done for public relations of the inquiry members, and I believe that this was one of those times for publicity. The hearings are not a crowning moment for the US Congress, MLB, or Roger Clemens, and certainly not a teaching point for our children on the Rule of Law.
