Toshiba details Cell Regza LCD TV, coming December to Japan (update: video!) (Engadget)
Oct 5th 2009 3:21PM Seems like we're finally getting the consumer version of the multi-channel TV from Back To The Future Part II. This article claims that we already had it with "Sports Mix" from DTV; Finally we can pick our own -8- channels..Yow! Makes me wonder, will it have dual M-card support for digital cable?

Ummm you mean to tell me that my FlexPay account with TMO is unable to use Google Voice? How do you figure?
I have a GV number as an incoming line for business, and allow the TMO # to be for friends/family. I rather enjoy the separation of business/personal.
Google Voice is NOT meant to have calls forwarded to it: it IS however meant to take the place of the Primary number you give out. I use it semi-properly, whereas I don't give the GV # to everyone, only to business related people.
So yes, screw the ability to have TMO forward your calls on non-answer...This is NOT required, and in fact NOT the way GV was meant to work!
Please read: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/voice/thread?tid=7c63838aae334fe3&hl=en "Top 10 reasons NOT to forward your phone to Google Voice"
Google updates Maps through the Android Market (Engadget)
Jun 16th 2009 10:55AM Only a YEAR after the Windows Mobile and Blackberry (and J2ME!) versions could do transit, we finally get upgraded... I was running the J2ME ver for a while under J2ME Explorer, just for transit.. Hackish, but it worked.
It's about time.

Jun 5th 2009 5:26PM Android in its multiple hardware incarnations would be the perfect platform to deploy this on. Android is a freely customizable OS with a multiple-virtual-keyboard backend. You could either make a sample application or even interface with the main OS code. No "Hard to get" approval or licenses needed!

Feb 4th 2009 7:38PM Does this update add any sort of Walking or Transit directions to the Android Maps functionality?
I've been missing Transit ever since I canceled my Sprint service...It worked PERFECTLY on the Blackberry.

Jan 6th 2009 2:51PM 3 letters and one word describe my position on this debate:
OGG. Vorbis.
'Nuff said.
Now, as soon as all DAPs start supporting THAT, I'll be happy. Every CD I personally rip is to either FLAC (rare) or OGG (often) but I will say, the ubiquity of the MP3 format does allow for playback on many more devices... Car CD players, older MP3 players that don't know what an AAC file is, etc.

Sure, the BB and Sidekick are keyboard devices, but I'd love to have anything but their default oses installed. Closed proprietary phones, of any stature, need to be freed!
Mobile Millennium project promises to track traffic with cellphones (Engadget)

It's just as anonymous as having a MAC address tied to a login/password whenever you login to any website online.
Speaking of tinfoil hats, I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if -- and I even expect that they do -- the NARUS boxes in secret rooms at AT&T and other telecom companies were parsing and archiving every single word I type on the internet, any VoIP calls I make, and every website I view.
There are certain things I don't want people to have, and for this, I just go talk in person. :)
Mobile Millennium project promises to track traffic with cellphones (Engadget)
Nov 7th 2008 4:59PM Let's see...
Anonymous data, possibly only sent whenever you are running the particular mapping program, without any sort of telephone number involved... This doesn't strike me as an issue. The only uniquely identifiable information that may be sent is your phone's temporary IP address, a username/pw to login, and maybe, possibly, but probably not, your phone's ESN or IMEI, as a unique serial.
You want total privacy? Disable the GPS chip in your phone entirely. Or better yet, remove its battery. Thats the -only- way they can't track you. Yes, cell-site position/time-of-arrival is actually relatively good...
