The long simmering racism and use of code in this country is coming to a boil, particularly among many the GOP depends on to win elections.

Dec 3rd 2007 5:06PM This just proves what we already knew, that while Rove and the Republicans claim Hillary is their dream candidate against whom to run, she's really the candidate they fear the most, and for good reason. She's going to whip their tails. They would love to run against Obama, with his continuing support to grant drivers licenses to undocumented aliens, willingness to meet face to face with and grant legitimacy to tyrants, and elevation of international human rights over national security as his would-be first priority as president. They're not going to get the chance. Though I have great respect for the man, after hearing him speak and meeting him briefly, I remember thinking in 1989 of Jimmy Carter, if this man's elected, it will end up putting the Republicans in the White House for multiple terms after. He was just too naive to be president, and Obama's the same. Hillary in the White House will last two terms, and provide a fine juxtaposition against the Bush White House to keep Democrats strong a good long time. Obama in the White House is over in a term, with resurgent Republicans. They know that, and will do all they can to help Obama.

Nov 27th 2007 3:01PM Nuts. This is just another example of why most of us have a problem with "fundamentalists" of any faith. God doesn't require you to have a lobotomy to be a believer, that's why he gave us free will. We would all be a lot better off if those who are opposed to others' exercise of that free will concentrated more on their own salvation, by adhering to the teachings of love and tolerance in all the texts, than by claiming to be concerned with the salvation of others' who only really bother them because their beliefs aren't 100% the same.

Nov 19th 2007 2:29PM Obama blew any chance of winning the Whitehouse, even were he to win the primaries, when he said in Vegas that international human rights were more important than national security. Not only does the Constitution vest the responsibility for one and not the other in the President, but it is the first concern of most Americans, Democrat, Republican, or Independent. World conquest need not be the national goal, but national security is the top priority, and Obama’s sin city sound-bite disqualified him for the nomination.
