Cell Phones Pose Threat to Child Pedestrians, Study Says (Switched)
Jan 27th 2009 12:43PM Just yesterday, I had to sound my horn loudly to get the attention of a teenager walking in the middle of our street [we have no sidewalk]. Even then I had to brake hard to avoid him.
Kids using cell phones are but a part of the cell phone addiction. Most hazardous are those drivers of all ages who use cell phones, both hand held and hands free, while driving.
We have laws prohibiting such practices, but those laws are seldom, if ever, enforced.
Hot Seat: Obama's CIA Choice (Politics Daily)
Jan 14th 2009 4:09PM Intelligence "insiders" or "professionals" or whatever one wants to call them said Saddam had weapons of mass distruction. They talked the President into pre-emptive war on Iraq. That would disqualify and "professional" from heading the CIA.
What's New in Windows 7? (Switched)
Nov 14th 2008 12:54PM Vista is hardly out of the box. It's full of bugs which Microsoft still tries to fix. So why Windows 7? Almost every computer geek I know, says "Stay away from it!"
Windows XP is a proven platform. Microsoft will continue to support it until April 2014. No need to change anything now.
CMA Awards Red Carpet Pictures (The Boot)
Nov 13th 2008 12:51PM The gals are OK. The stubble faced guys should shave and learn not to dress so shabbily. How about a real suit & tie, guys?
Post, Times, Star Tossed Off Obama Plane? (Politics Daily)
Oct 31st 2008 5:59PM Consider the source. I don't know about the Dallas paper, but the NY Post and Washington Times are in the tabloid category.
AOL Straw Poll: Oct. 17-24 (Politics Daily)
Oct 28th 2008 4:36PM POLLLS POLLS POLLLS AND MORE POLLS. I'M SICK OF THEM!
Early on, I answered them in a straight forward way; but not recently - especially those phone polls at supper time. I'll tell one guy that Palin is running for president - to another, I'm for Nader - and still others I'm for McCain or Obama or Santa Claus or Jimmy Carter, etc.
I've told those guys and gals that I'm right wing Republican, left wing Democrat, Independent, Green, and Baptist. Anything to mess up their minds and get them off the phone.
The Affirmative Case: David for Obama (Politics Daily)
Oct 28th 2008 12:55PM Your reasons in support of Sen. Obama, Mr. Knowles, are mine as well. Just as JFK inspired the nation in 1960, Sen. Obama does so today. Back then detractors said, "We're not ready for a Roman Catholic in the White House," "JFK lacks experience for the job," etc.
Idiological sons and daughters of those detractors say much the same today of Sen. Obama: this time it's, "We're not ready for a black man in the White House," "Obama lacks experience," etc.
Hot Seat: Palin Effect (Politics Daily)
Oct 27th 2008 3:56PM McCain definitely lost my vote when he picked Palin. Sarah and Tina would make a great standup comic duo.
Rumors Bush supporters spread in the 2000 primaries:
"McCain is crazy;"
"McCain 'the fag candidate'";
"McCain's wife is a drug addict";
"McCain abandoned his cripple first witfe"
"McCain fathered children out of wedlock"
"McCain's dark-skinned, adopted daughter was the product of McCain extrmarital affair."
Gordon Smith Running Away From GOP (Politics Daily)
Oct 23rd 2008 3:13PM Reminds me of 1964 when all the southern Democrats jumped to the Republican side after Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act. The Old Confederacy has been solid Republican ever since. We here in Virginia just might change that when we elect Mark Warner for Senate and kick out all those borrow and spend Republicans in the House.
AOL Straw Poll: Oct. 17-24 (Politics Daily)
Oct 23rd 2008 6:30AM I've been "attacked" by more than a few pollsters this season. I've grown tired of it. So I give a different set of answers to each one.
